Hulk Hogan Cheated Out of Legacy By WWE
Hulk Hogan The Racist
Before you read this I am going to let you know that some of the language may be graphic as I will be using direct quotes from the footage recorded and reported. Hulk Hogan (Terry Bollea) has transcripts in a Florida court taken from a sex tape with the wife of wrestling radio show host Bubba The Love Sponge. The Enquirer and Radar have published excerpts from this $100 million lawsuit against Gawker media showing Hulk Hogan using racist language. This is some of the transcript that was released:
“I don’t know if Brooke was f*cking the black guy’s son,” Hulk raved, the sources add.
“I mean, I don’t have double standards. I mean, I am a racist, to a point, f*cking n*ggers. But then when it comes to nice people and sh*t, and whatever.” ...
According to sources, he said: “I mean, I’d rather if she was going to f*ck some n*gger, I’d rather have her marry an 8-foot-tall n*gger worth a hundred million dollars! Like a basketball player!
“I guess we’re all a little racist. Fucking n*gger.”
I had to read this about three times to let it sink in just how bad what he says actually is. It is so bad that if he would have said it in front of me I would have been speechless. What kind of person talks like that even behind closed doors. This is a man who has been idolized by generations of wrestling fans and considered one of the best wrestling superstars of all time. You should feel hurt and Hulk Hogan should be ashamed of himself. I can't even imagine what all the black men he has wrestled and mentored over the years are thinking. The confusion in their minds of a man they had idolized growing up. Some of the black men may have even became wrestlers because of Hulk Hogan. It is a stab in the back to wrestling fans of every race. What would make a man who is so universally loved by millions of people say something so outlandishly racist and hateful? His peers such as Rowdy Roddy Piper have come out to support Hogan but it has been few and far between not wanting to put their own careers in jeopardy.
WWE Steroid Suspensions
Do you know what wrestlers Booker T, Ryback, John Morrison, Dolph Ziggler, Rey Mysterio, Jeff Hardy, Randy Orton, and Edge? They all were suspended for 30 days for WWE's Wellness Policy for failing their mandatory drug test. According to WWE.com under substance abuse drug testing policy:
A. FOR POSITIVE DRUG TESTS OTHER THAN MARIJUANA AND ALCOHOL
First Violation:First Violation: In the event of an initial positive test for substances prohibited by this Policy other than marijuana and alcohol, the WWE Talent shall be suspended for thirty (30) days, fined an amount equal to thirty (30) days, pay deducted from the WWE Talent’s downside guarantee on a weekly basis and WWE will publicly disclose the WWE Talent’s name and duration of the suspension and indicating a first violation the Policy.
Second Violation:In the event of a second positive test for substances prohibited by this Policy other than marijuana and alcohol, the WWE Talent shall be suspended for sixty (60) days, fined an amount equal to sixty (60) days, pay deducted from the WWE Talent’s downside guarantee on a weekly basis and WWE will publicly disclose the WWE Talent’s name and duration of the suspension and indicating a second violation the Policy.
Third Violation:In the event of a third positive test for substances prohibited by this Policy other than marijuana and alcohol, the WWE Talent’s contract with WWE will be terminated and WWE will publicly disclose the WWE Talent’s name and that WWE Talent’s contract was terminated for a third violation of the Policy.
Under this policy people get 3 strikes before they are terminated. So people who are using drugs according to WWE that are company policy not to take only get 30 days suspension without pay. The second offense is 60 days without pay. How is it if you use drugs and get caught by WWE you are suspended, but if you get caught saying a racist comment from a private tape 9 years ago the company cuts all ties with you? Again I want to remind you that this was 9 years ago. My fiancee tried to have a conversation this morning after reading several articles and had no idea that this happened in 2006. I have a hard time believing that the WWE believes they are right in firing and cutting all ties with a legend in wrestling who helped make the company what it is toady.
Just Suspend Hogan
What Hulk Hogan said was horrible, but in privacy and obviously angry he should get some kind forgiveness. This was also 9 years ago in 2006. That is a major factor in all of this. I am not even close to the same person I was almost 10 years ago. He didn't beat his wife, he didn't do any drugs, and he didn't do anything illegal. So firing some one over something he said that was in bad taste but not violent is pushing it when wrestlers only get 30 day suspensions for getting caught taking drugs. I am not a fan of what Hulk Hogan said and certainly not since it involved a sex tape with another man's wife. I also believe Hulk Hogan has a serious lawsuit on his hands from court documents being leaked. He also never denied that he made those comments. In fact he owned up to it and apologized immediately which is something most people in these situations refuse to do. Since this is his first offense suspend the man and move one. He is a legend in the wrestling world and helped build WWE to the multi million dollar industry it is today. Not to mention Vincent Kennedy McMahon used the "n" word on national television in a skit with John Cena. Go to Google and look it up. The WWE says it is okay because it is a show. I think that is a bunch of crap and they should be ashamed of themselves. At least Hulk Hogan manned up and admitted what he did was wrong.
