Create the Memories & Save the Money

Looking for family fun that won’t deplete your funds? Consider California’s hidden treasure: Knott’s Berry Farm.

Let’s face it; big brand theme parks are fun, but they can be expensive. Other places have amazing shows and thrilling rides too.

If you are a thrill seeker that doesn’t have a lot of bills to shell out to the big parks, a smaller amusement park may just be the answer. Trust me, you won’t have to sacrifice fun to save a few Benjamins either.

As a mom of four, we’ve done all the usual, mega parks from Disneyland in California to Disney World in Florida. We’ve rented strollers, lost our car in mega parking lots and stood in line way too long only to have one of the kids ask to go to the John. We’ve rode it all. We’ve done it all many times over. The funny thing is despite all the money we paid at the big name parks like Universal Studios, we paid even less money at Six Flags and still had the same amount of fun.

At the end of the ride, it’s all about creating memories and smiling faces.

Who doesn’t smile more when they have more money? In good economic times and bad, a dollar saved is still a dollar earned. Check out Knott’s Berry Farm in California to keep a few dollars for in your wallet.

Educate & Entertain: Learn About Knott's Berry Farm

Knott’s Berry Farm

We love it!

It’s located in Beuna Park, California which is less than an hour from LA.

If your kids love Charlie Brown characters, then they’ll love Knott’s Berry. It’s actually laid back place for parents to discover too. Both you and the kids get to explore different cultures such as the Indian Trails and Fiesta Village. It’s a creative and fun way to entertain and educate. After all, the more you learn, the more you can earn.

Popular rides include the 312 feet Supreme Scream, Xcelerator and Montezooma’s Revenge.

Smaller kids (12 and under) will enjoy Camp Snoopy at Knott’s Berry. We always made a missing person game out of it and asked the kids to be on the lookout for Snoopy, Charlie Brown, Sally, Lucy, Linus, Peppermint Patty or Woodstock. The kid that found the most characters first would win a prize.

Our favorite place to eat: Mrs. Knott's Chicken Dinner Restaurant. In addition to Mrs. Knott’s famous fried chicken, you’ll be served mashed potatoes, gravy and finger-licking-good biscuits and jam. If you have room to spare, enjoy a big piece of pie all at a price that won’t ruin your budget. A word of caution: It’s located outside of the park so get you hand stamped when you leave the park.

Knott’s Berry Farm proves that you don’t have to walk hand in hand down the road with Mickey to create a memory, Snoopy is just as impressive.
