Jose Mourinho to make first “Red Devil” signing - Zlatan Ibrahimovic ‘Missing In Action’
Jose Mourinho appears to be on course to sign Ivorian defender Eric Bailly.
The Villareal (Spanish Club) pillar-of-a-defender is set to be part of Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United Squad for the coming season. This comes as a surprise as all eyes seemed to be set on the Swedish and Paris Saint Germain (PSG) striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Will Zlatan finally make the Jose Mourinho list?... We live to see.
T his will ultimately become the Portuguese coaching maestro’s first signing at Manchester United. It has been reported that the Board of Directors of Manchester United has agreed a fee of €35 million (£27 million/$39 million) with the Spanish club for the services of the 22-year-old defender from Ivory Coast. Having joined Espanyol at the age of
17, Bailly, at age 17, joined Espanyol (another Spanish Club) and played for the club’s B-team before finally making his first appearance in 2014. Eric Bailly got a deal with Villareal after making less than six appearances for Espanyol senior side. This young defender showed strength and agility, and was impressive throughout the just-ended football season.
Being quick and athletic, he helped Villareal to clinch a top-four finish in the Spanish Premier League, La Liga. He also helped the club to reach the semi-finals of the Europa League where the team unfortunately got booted out of the tournament by the English Premiership giant (the Jurgen Klopp squad), Liverpool FC.
