Key Non Conference Games in the SEC 2011 Season

Updated on April 25, 2011

A Look Ahead to Non Conference Games in SEC 2011

The SEC is the best conference in college football right now.  They are coming off a fifth straight national championship for the conference.  Not only do they have to win key conference matchups but they also have out of conference games that can help there ranking in the BCS standings.  Last year LSU beat North Carolina (which was ranked at the time) in the Georgia Dome.  The year before Alabama handled Virginia Tech in a game with national title implications.  Also the game between Arkansas and Texas A&M last season helped Arkansas go to the Sugar Bowl against Ohio State.  So besides playing in the toughest conference in college football, SEC teams do have some non conferences games that are vital to there success.  I have taken a look at each teams non conference schedule and have picked 15 non conference games that are just as important as a conference game.

Quarterback Jordan Jefferson will lead LSU against Oregon in week 1 in Cowboys Stadium.
