My WrestleMania 31 highlights and favorite moments

Updated on September 26, 2015

Wrestlemania 31 Begins.

More than 76,000 wrestling fans piled into the Levi’s Stadium for what was anticipated to be the hottest WrestleMania of the past decade, but did World Wrestling Entertainment deliver? Artistically and financially it was a hit for the WWE, but the fans are a different story all together. For those that missed the event live, take a moment, sit down, and relax as we go through the most memorable moments of WrestleMania 31.

Wwe World Heavyweight Championship; Seth Rollins Takes on Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns Claiming Victory.

Wrestling fans in the stadium and all over the world witnessed a moment of history as Seth Rollins became the first wrestler to cash in his Money in the Bank contract during the heavy weight championship match between Lesnar and Reigns. Fans were worried if Rollins had what it took to take down Lesnar and Reigns, and of course he did. Rollins put the smack down on Lesnar and Reigns, who were already on the losing end of the battle, allowing Rollins to take home the Heavyweight Championship in a rather strategic win. The actual match between Lesnar and Reigns proved to be rather entertaining, with Lesnar taking the match by the Reigns (Ok, slight pun there since Lesnar was devastating Reigns), and perfecting a series of German Suplexes; Reigns however, took the punishment like a champ and even cracking a few smiles here or there. Of course the match couldn’t have been memorable without showing some skin and blood; as Lesnar did following a head-on collision with a ring post, busting him wide open. This was when Rollins popped in, rather strategic don’t you think? Kick the enemy while there down? Sounds like a great strategy to me, nonetheless, Rollins pinned Reigns, claiming the championship.

the Undertaker Devastats Bray Wyatt in a Successful Comeback

Wrestling fans everywhere got a surprise on Sunday with the return of The Undertaker, taking on Bray Wyatt. The Undertaker took a vacation from the WWE following his loss to Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XXX, taking with him his undefeated streak. No matter how long The Undertaker was gone, he came back picking up where he left off. The 50-year-old looked rather good, for all the punishment and abuse he had suffered through-out the years. Unlike in the past, The Undertaker did not enter ring-side in complete darkness, but he didn’t let that take away from a phenomenal entrance. The actual match its self was not that memorable, but had its moments from action scenes, to near falls, misses and of course the ultimate outcome; The Undertaker redeemed himself and defeated Bray Wyatt.

The Rock and Ronda Rousey confront the Authority - WWE Wrestlemania 31

Can You Smell What the Rock Is Cooking? the Rock Smacked down the Authority

So what’s WrestleMania without a promo? That’s exactly what The Authority, Stephanie McMahon, and Triple H thought as they stood in the ring boasting and bragging about all their victories in front of 76,000 fans. Apparently one person felt all their bragging and boasting was a tad bit premature, and decided to layith the smack down on their candy asses. The Rock, felt that he shouldn’t be left out and wanted to make a magical WrestleMania moment himself. Unfortunately, Stephanie McMahon decided it was a good idea to demand that Rocky dismiss himself from the ring, slapping him in the face upon his refusal to leave.

This is where it got interesting, as The Rock recruited Ronda Rousey, the UFC’s Women’s Bantamweight Champion. Rousey hurled over the guard, jumping into the ring the moment Rocky called her in. McMahon tried being friends with Rousey and when that didn’t work, McMahon tried intimidation which of course was fruitless as McMahon weighs about 110 soaking wet. This opened Triple H up to a smack down by Rocky and a nice little judo throw by Rousey before she shoved McMahon on her fanny. Perhaps McMahon learned she does not hold the authority.

John Cena Takes down Rusev for the Wwe United States Championship.

In one of the most anticipated matches of the year, John Cena entered the ring with Rusev for the WWE United States Championship. This is not the first time Cena has been in the ring fighting for the WWE United States Championship, but it is the first time he has won it. Both Cena and Rusev held a fighting chance at winning the championship, starting with the moment they came to the ring. Rusev armed with a tank and men dressed as Russian Soldiers and Cena with his video on America covered with cameos from former United States Presidents, Ronald Reagan and George Bush.

The action inside the ring was something fans have been anticipating. Unfortunately, the match was pretty clear cut, including Luna’s attempts at distracting Cena to help her comrade win. Luna’s efforts were for nothing, as Cena pinned Rusev, leaving Rusev defeated, bruised, and ready for a rematch in the future.

Would Triple H beat Sting in a fair fight?

The Match I Was Waiting For. Sting Takes on Triple H.

In a match I was waiting to see, Sting comes back after a 14 year hiatus, challenging Triple H and promising to take him down. Sting was one of my favorite wrestlers growing up, and after 14 years, the 60-year-old man looked phenomenal, in both looks and being in shape. Now while Triple H defeated Sting, I wonder if he would have been able to defeat him had he not been helped by his buddies, D-Generation X, Road Dogg, Billy Gunn, and of course X-Pac. Sting didn’t go without help however, as Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, and Scott Hall came running to the rescue to make the interference fair, bringing me back to my childhood and the early 90’s all over again.

After all the uproar died down, the match was underway again. This time Sting had the upper hand that was until Shawn Michaels interfered on behalf of D-Generation X. The heartbreak kid did what he needed to do and eventually Sting and Triple H grabbed their weapons, Sting armed with a baseball bat, Triple H with his infamous sledgehammer. Sting left Triple H in awe as he broke his sledgehammer with a swing of the ball bat but that didn’t prevent Triple H from using the hammer and gaining a win over Sting. Again, it is questionable if Triple H would have been able to defeat Sting if it weren’t for the interference by D-Generation X, no matter if the New World Order popped on the scene or not. No matter the outcome, it is certain that D-Generation X and The New World Order will have a feud on their hands, as they will take this to heart. At the end of the day Triple H and Sting shared a friendly handshake, showing that no matter how long you wait to take someone out you can still win or lose gracefully. No matter what your favorite moments were during WrestleMania 31, it is clear that 76,000 live fans and fans all over the world got their monies worth Sunday night.

Dude just because leasnr was on ufc don't mean he can beat triple h, i mean we know that wwe is fake but you also need to know who triple h is, i mean he was in the same level as stone cold when they were in wwf .And at that time there was no rules it was all real and triple h was meanest and baddest guy. You have to watch his training and you gonna realize what he is all about. Brock leasnr is strong and he knows how to fight but lets see if he really can beat triple h in summerslam.

Triple H may have been in the same class as Stone Cold but to this day Triple H remains a chump. Caught up in the sensationalization, the commercial nature of what the WWE has become and really has become a chump. You're right though, just because Brock Lesner was in the UFC doesn't mean he is capable of beating Triple H, but tell Triple H to lose his cronies and his sledgehammer and we will see.
