NY Jets at New England

A back to forth game where the Patriots were able to do just enough to win. Brady threw for 261 yards and three touchdowns. The Pats struggled to run the ball where the Jets ran the ball extraordinarily well for 218 yards. The Jets settled for a lot of field goals, which ultimately hurt them.

Didn’t have this game picked in time last week.

Atlanta at Baltimore

The Ravens overcame three turnovers and with a pretty dominating defensive game, were able to get a big 29-7 win. The Falcons continue to struggle, falling to 2-5. The dirty birds need to get their running game going if they want to get back on track.

I picked Baltimore 27-17-----Actual Result Baltimore 29-7

Tennessee at Washington

I thought Kurt Cousins would turn around his performance and help Washington get a win, I was wrong. Washington did get the win, but after they pulled Cousins and replaced him with Colt McCoy. (Remember that kid from Texas that everyone though was going to be a stud? Well he was pretty good on Sunday, it’s just taken a couple years.) He was 11/12 with a touchdown pass.

I picked Washington 24-20------ Actual Result Washington 19-17

I wanted to pick the Rams last week, I really wanted to, but couldn’t believe that the Seahawks would lose two in a row. The Rams had a couple outstanding special teams plays that helped seal the game for them. Austin Davis also had a great game with 18/21 152 yards and two touchdowns.

I picked Seattle 21-17 ------- Actual Result St. Louis 28-26

Cleveland at Jacksonville

The game started off slowly for both teams, Cleveland kicked a couple field goals, and then Bortles threw a 31 yard touchdown pass to Allen Robinson before the half to take the lead. The Jaguars continued to build on their lead while holding the Browns to under 300 yards of total offense.

I picked Jacksonville 27-24------ Actual Result Jacksonville 24-6

Cincinnati at Indianapolis

I thought this would be a statement game for the Colts, and it was more of a statement than I could have possibly imagined. The Colts completely dominated the game on both sides of the ball. The Bengals were 1-13 on third down conversions and had a total of 8 first downs. The Colts were also able to get after Andy Dalton, accumulating four more sacks for the season. If there was one area of the game that the Colts need to improve on, it’s not turning the ball over. Both Ahmad Bradshaw and Trent Richardson fumbled in the first half; which stalled drives and gave the Bengals a short field. It’s a good thing the Colts’ defense was incredible, only allowing 135 total yards, while the offense gained over 500.

I picked Indianapolis 38-21------ Actual Result Indianapolis 27-0

Minnesota at Buffalo

The growing pains continued for Teddy Bridgewater this past weekend. He was 15/26 156 yards only one touchdown and two interceptions. He was also sacked five times. Despite his struggles, he had his team in position to win the game, until Kyle Orton hit Sammy Watkins for a two yard touchdown pass with just a second left on the clock to win. Give Teddy and the Vikings some time, and I think they will be a pretty decent football team.

I picked Buffalo 24-7------ Actual Result Buffalo 17-16

Miami at Chicago

The Bears didn’t come to play, and Brandon Marshall was mad. He knows how much talent the Bears have on offense, and he knows they should score more than 14 points. He was very openly upset towards quarterback, Jay Cutler, who didn’t have a very good game. Cutler threw an interception and lost a fumble, although he did fumble three times. The Dolphins came out and had a very efficient game overall. Ryan Tannehill seems to be coming into his own after a couple good weeks.

I picked Chicago 28-27------ Actual Result Miami 27-14

New Orleans at Detroit

It looked like New Orleans had turned this ship around; that is their losing ways so far this season. The Saints led the Lions 23-10 with just over five minutes left in the game. However, that was enough time for the Lions to do just enough damage.

I picked Detroit 27-10------ Actual Result Detroit 24-23

The Packers jumped out to a quick lead and never gave it back. They dominated in all parts of the game and it was never competitive. Aaron Rogers was nearly perfect, throwing for 19/22 255 yards and three touchdowns. He now has thrown eighteen touchdown to just one interception this year. That’s crazy. The only good news for the Panthers is that everyone else in their division lost this week as well, which keeps them at the top of the NFC South.

Kansas City at San Diego

This was a classic trap game for the Chargers. They seemed to be looking past the Chiefs to the Broncos, who they play on Thursday night. This was a back and forth dog fight, which ended on a positive note for the Chiefs. With the game tied at 20 and only 1:57 left on the game clock, after a Chargers field goal to tie it, it was up to Alex Smith to lead his team down the field for the game winning field goal. That also would be harder considering there was a holding penalty on the kick off and the Chiefs started with the ball at their own 8 yard line. Smith was able to get chunk yards and get in position to kick the game winning field goal, which was good.

I picked Kansas City 24-17------ Actual Result Kansas City 23-20

Arizona at Oakland

The Cardinals took control of this game early and never lost the lead. However, the Raiders did make a game out of it by the third quarter when they cut the lead to 14-13, but Carson Palmer and the Cardinals were able to regain control and finish out the game.

NY Giants at Dallas

The Giants flew into Dallas to take on the red hot Cowboys, who were on a five game winning streak. The Cowboys were able to get going first, scoring on a touchdown pass from Tony Romo. The Giants came right back with a couple touchdowns of their own to take the lead. However, after a touchdown from Romo before and after halftime, the Cowboys took a lead they wouldn’t give back.

I picked Dallas 28-17 ------ Actual Result Dallas 31-21

San Francisco at Denver

Let’s just take a moment to realize how amazing what Peyton Manning has done. He had thrown 506 touchdowns in his career going into this game, just two touchdowns behind Brett Favre for most ever. Well, it didn’t take long for Manning to tie the record. He hit Wes Welker for a 39 yard touchdown to put his team up 14-0 and tie Favre. Then with just over three minutes left in the half, Manning found Demaryius Thomas for an eight yard strike that put him at 509. He then also threw another touchdown in the night, and didn’t play much more after that, as the Broncos blew out the 49ers.

I picked Denver 31-17 ------ Actual Result Denver 42-17

Houston at Pittsburgh

Houston played really well for 57 minutes of this game. They fell completely apart right before half-time and they weren’t able to recover enough from it. The Steelers scored a touchdown, then forced a turnover, scored again, then forced another turnover and scored yet again to go into half. It was just too much for the Texans to handle.

I picked Houston 21-17------ Actual Result Pittsburgh 30-23

Additional Notes

Best Win

Detroit didn’t play the best last week, but their win was the most important because they should have lost last week. They need to keep winning as the Packers are on a tear right now.

Worst Loss

Seattle losing back to back games, and losing to the Rams has to be the worst loss. The Seahawks are now two games behind the Cardinals in the NFC West. They have already had their BYE week, and they have a brutal schedule the rest of the way.

I went 11-3 this week picking games bringing my total to 21-7-1.
