The English Premier League or Premiership.Call it what you will. Well it has been going for 20 years now and is about to start its 21st season in this incarnation since taking over as the top league in England from the First Division.

Here are just a few facts and figures and biggest names to have featured and starred in the league over those years.

The league has been extremely good for Manchester United,having won 12 out of 20 titles. The change to the Premiership changed the course of Manchester United. They won the first championship in 1992/93 and hadn’t won the old First Division since 1967.

The opposite is true of Liverpool. They had won 10 of the last 17 First Division titles but none since the start of the Premier League.

ALEX FERGUSON is the only manager to be in charge for every season in the Premier.
