Arsenal vs Chelsea

Saturday

12:45pm

Arsenal are looking sure favourites to claim the 3rd Champions League spot, while Chelsea are in a 3-way fight with Tottenham and Newcastle for the final place.

  • Chelsea have the 3rd best defensive away record, with only the two Manchester clubs having better.
  • Chelsea have only won 2 of their last 5 League games.
  • Arsenal were on a 5 game home winning streak before their shock defeat to Wigan on Monday.
  • Arsenal are missing Arteta and Benayoun
  • Chelsea are missing Drogba, Ivanovic

Chelsea are missing their goalscorer of the last two games, Drogba, are Di Matteo will have one eye on Tuesday's Champions League Semi-Final.

Arsenal have nothing on their minds other than securing a top four spot as soon as possible, and have had 2 more days to prepare than Chelsea, so for that reason I can see Arsenal winning this one 2-1.

Aston Villa vs Sunderland

Saturday

3:00pm

Aston Villa are in danger of being dragged into the relegation battle, while Sunderland have almost nothing to play for, with mid-table a certainty.

  • Neither side is in good form: Sunderland haven't scored in their last 3 games, and Villa haven't won since March 10th.
  • Sunderland had an excellent first 10 games under Martin O'Neill, taking 23 points, but have taken just 10 from the last 10.
  • Villa have won just 1 of their last 4 home League games against Sunderland.

Neither team is playing well, Sunderland are the better side but Villa have more to play for, so I can only see a tight draw, so I'll go for 1-1.

Blackburn vs Norwich

Saturday

3:00pm

Blackburn are right in the middle of the relegation fight, whereas Norwich are in mid-table with no chance of relegation or Europe.

  • The two teams are the highest scorers outside the top 6; Blackburn have 45, and Norwich 47.
  • Neither team is in good form, Blackburn are on a 5 game win streak while Norwich have just 1 win in 4.

Similar to Aston Villa vs Sunderland, one team is at risk of relegation and one is stuck in mid-table, so I predict a similar result, 1-1.

Bolton vs Swansea

Saturday

3:00pm

Once again this is a relegation battler vs mid-table game.

  • Swansea were on a 4 game streak of defeats before beating Blackburn 3-0.
  • Bolton were on a 3 game win streak before losing their last 2.

Another tight game, I'm going for Swansea to edge it 2-1.

Fulham vs Wigan

Saturday

3:00pm

Fulham are in mid-table while Wigan's amazing recent run has seen them climb out of the relegation zone.

  • Wigan have 4 wins in the last 5, including wins against Arsenal and Manchester United.
  • Fulham have lost just 1 of their last 8 home League games.

Both teams are in brilliant form, in particular Wigan, and I can see an exciting attacking game, 2-2 draw.

Newcastle vs Stoke

Saturday

3:00pm

Newcastle are chasing what would be an astonishing 4th place finish, while Stoke are clear of relegation and going to finish in mid-table.

  • Stoke are without a win in their last 7 away league games.
  • Newcastle are on a 5 game winning streak.

Newcastle are in top form and desperately want the 4th position, whereas Stoke aren't in form and don't have much to play for, so I can only see Newcastle continuing the winning streak comfortably. 2-0.

QPR vs Tottenham

Saturday

5:30pm

Tottenham are clinging on to their 4th place in front of Newcastle while QPR are just about keeping above the relegation zone, so both have a lot to play for.

  • QPR have alternated between an away loss and a home win for their last 7 games.
  • Tottenham have won just 1 of their last 8.

Tottenham's 5-1 FA Cup defeat against Chelsea was extremely harsh on them and should never have happened, so they will be looking to bounce back, and I think they'll do just that against an inconsistent QPR team, despite their poor form. 2-1 Tottenham.

Man Utd vs Everton

Sunday

12:30pm

Man Utd are looking to claim their 20th Premier League crown, while Everton are hoping to finish above rivals Liverpool, with Europe out of sight.

  • United have won 9 of the last 10, and have won every home league game in 2012.
  • Everton have taken 10 points of the last possible 12.

United are looking like a team ready to win the title recently, and I can't see Everton stopping them on their charge, 3-0.

Liverpool vs West Brom

Sunday

4:00pm

8th vs 13th, neither team has a lot to play for other than pride.

  • Liverpool have taken just 7 points from the last 9 games.
  • West Brom have taken just 1 point from the last 4 away games.

Liverpool haven't had a good season in the league, but their cup runs will give them encouragement to finish the season well, as well as the return of keeper Reina.

Their confidence will be high after getting to their second cup final of the season, so I can only see a comfortable Liverpool win, 2-0.

Wolves vs Man City

Sunday

4:00pm

Man City are chasing United at the top, while Wolves are all but relegated.

  • Wolves have 1 point from 8 games.
  • Man City have 12 points from their last 11 away matches.

Man City have stumbled recently, but were right back in form with their 6-1 win over Norwich. They will be looking to keep the pressure up on United, and Wolves will provide no opposition to them. Easy win for City, 4-0

Seem like pretty sound predictions. Although I can see West Brom beating Liverpool, I know its at Anfield, but Liverpool have been terrible this season. I can also see the Villa losing at home, it would be a nice taste of revenge for Martin O'Neill.
