Bruce Lee

Bruce Lee was an actor, martial artist and an actual martial arts instructor. He was born in Hong Kong, China in 1940 and he died in 1973 at the young age of 32. He was a U.S. and a Chinese citizen who combined several forms of martial arts and invent what he called Jeet Kune Do. He was known for his physical fitness and was dedicated to being in the gym who constantly trained himself and others. Lee was famous for accomplishing many hard feats that seemed impossible such as:

1. Lee was able to perform one handed push ups using just his index finger and his thumb. That is an amazing feat and I can not imagine doing this, nor would I try!

2. Lee was able to perform fifty one arm chin ups at a time without breaking a sweat or looking tired. If you think that this is easy, you give it a try and see how hard it is.

3. Lee famously was able to snatch a dime out of someones hand and leave a penny before their hand closes shut. This is a talent of good hand and eye coordination.

Bruce Lee was a poet who wrote twenty one poems and he was surrounded by problems because he taught Chinese martial arts to non Asians. Bruce Lee helped to make martial arts popular in America. Besides movies and Martial Art, Lee was also featured in cartoons, comic books, toys, video games and he also authored three books.

Awards:

1. First person inducted into the Mixed Martial Arts Hall of Fame in 1999.

2. A Bruce Lee theme park opened in Hong Kong in 2010 and features Lee memorabilia and likenesses everywhere.

3. Their is a Bronze statue of Bruce Lee in Hong Kong as a tribute to him.

Lee had had many books and documentaries made about him. A movie about his life called, Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story was made and it was a great depiction of his life at home and abroad. Great Martial Arts legends such as Chuck Norris and Joe Lewis sought out his advice and he was willing to help anyone whether it was Hollywood, in the gym or in the street with the common man. Bruce Lee along with Muhammad Ali was role models in the fight genre during the 60's and 70's. He was not just a Kung Fu movie actor, Martial Arts Expert and Celebrity. He was a people person who loved his family, friends, fans, the media and he even loved his haters. His charisma was not artificial he truly loved people and it showed.

Many people focus on how Bruce Lee died under odd circumstances. Some say he had heart failure while others say he was killed by the Chinese Mafia for teaching his martial arts to non Asians.

List of Bruce Lee Films

This is not a complete list but, these are the best films that he was in and they were full of action without a doubt.

Some of his movies are funny and borderline just silly but, some of his movies are quite serious.

1. Marlowe (1969): This was Bruce Lee's first major film performance. Full of Kung Fu fighting against tons of enemies. A murder mystery movie.

2. The Big Boss (1971): The fighting never stops until the end when it's The Big Boss vs. Bruce Lee. Hong Kong martial arts action film. This movie is also known as Fists of Fury.

3. Fist of Fury (1972): I own this movie on DVD and VHS. In this movie Lee fights to defend the honor of the Chinese in the face of foreign aggression.

4. The Way of the Dragon (1972): Once again, you get to see Bruce Lee performing high kicks, low kicks, spin kicks and side kicks all real time.

5. Enter the Dragon (1973): Hong Kong martial arts movie that was actually Bruce Lee's final performance. Some parts of this movie was filmed and was eventually used to create the movie Game of Death.

6. Game of Death (1973): This was a movie about Bruce Lee's Life. He was a lot of different things in his lifetime. He was a martial arts instructor, philosopher, film maker, action movie actor.

Also, Lee payed as Kato in the Green Hornet, which was a television show that had 26 episodes. Lee was a regular on television and appeared in the news and on many talk shows during his time at the top.

It is a shame that Bruce Lee passed away at such an early age in life.
