He is the only player in current generation who is included in Bradman's Eleven, the dream team of Bradman.In 2002 he was ranked as the 2nd greatest test player ever just behind Bradman and also the second greatest ODI player next to Viv Richards. But for the people who are really fascinated by this master blaster he is the GOD of cricket, Yes It is Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar the cricketer with highest number of fans and the player who possess immense talent.
Sachin was born in Bombay on 24 april 1973.His father Ramesh Tendulkar was a novelist. It is his brother Ajith first gave him inspiration to play cricket.He did his schooling from Sharadasramam Vidyamandir. It was here the cricketer in Sachin was realised and encouraged by his coach Ramakanth Achreckar. He went to MRF pace foundation to become a fast bowler, But the veteran Dennis Lilly advised him to concentrate in batiing and it is his field. This may be that great moment which God blessed all the cricket lovers sothat we all are able to enjoy the legent's batting still now.Little master Sunil Gavaskar presented Sachin a pair of pads which he said that he consider as greatest source of encouragement he ever had. His season in 1988 changed his life. He scored century in all the innings he played and also put the record for highest partneship of unbrocken 664 runs with his friend Vinod Kambli which opened the door of International cricket in front of him.
In 1988 in his Debut in first class match for Mumbai against Gujarath Sachin scored a century and was not out. He is the only one player who scored a century in his Debut in Ranji trophy, Dulip trophy & Irani trophy.
Sachin played his first test match in 1989,while he was only 16, against Pakistan in which he was out for 15 runs. But he way he handled the bowlers got appreciation. And his stand was extremely good.His ODI debut was quite disappointing. He was duck in his first match against Pakistan.Then he maid 88 in next test series against Newzeland.He score his first test match Century in Old Trafford Agust 1990 against England. Tendulkar really shined in his tour to Australia in 1991-92. This was the series Shane Warne aslo started his carrier there Sachin scored an unbeaten 148 which is still remembered.
As most other International players Tendulkar also shined best at his early twenties, but still maintains its spark.It was on a festival day (Holy) Tendulkar first asked to open the innings against Newzelan at auckland in 1994.This is what led to finding of world's best ever ODI opening batsman. He scored 82 runs of 49 balls in that match. Then his first ODI century came against Australia in the same year at Colombo, after a long time after his debut. Can you believe it that the man who owns the record for most number of centuries in both forms of cricket took 79 ODIs to score his first ODI international Century. Tendulkar was the leading run scorer in world cup twice in 1996 and also in 2003. During the period 1994-99 Tendulkar was the soul of Indian cricket team, when Tendulkar falls India falls. When he is in form India is sure to win that was the case then. In early 1998 he score 3 consecutive centuries in Australian tour and really thrashed the legspinner Shane Warne who told that he had sachin in his nightmares.Tendulkar also had very good record as a part time bowler. In Cochin, Kerala he was Man of the match twice through his bowling and holds the best bowling figure of 5/32 in 10 overs.
Tendulkar single handedly won 1998 ICC championship quarter final against Australia. Here he scored 141 runs out of 128 balls and then took 4 wickets also and there by helped India to enter semifinals. Another incident is that Sachin's father died during the 1999 world cup, so he missed the match against Zimbabwe, he returned for the country and scored an unbeaten 140 against Kenya in the very next match at Bristol. In 2003 world cup he scored 673 runs from 11 games and was the player of the series.
It is not possible to describe Sachin's all carrier here, because he is the most experienced, the most respected and one of the best players in the world who contributed that much to his country.
Twice he became the Captain, but was not much successful.Though he resigned the post still he always give support to captain with his advices and experiences. He likes to play freely with out the burden of Captaincy which would be useful to India too. Sachin always came back from injuries and form outs in a supreme way, may be with a beautiful century.
His Carrier achievements are numerous sothat all can not be listed here. He holds the record for Most runs in both ODIs and Test matches. He scored most number of centuries in Both forms of cricket. He has scored more than 1000 runs in a calender year 7 times which also includes 1894 in one year which is the highest runs scored by any batsman in a Calender year. He holds the record for most number of man of the matches in ODIs. He was the leading run scorer in 1996 world cup as well as in 2003 world cup. In 1997 the cricket Bible Wisdon elected him as the second best test batsman and best ODI batsman of all time. Government also granted him many rewards and awards such as Khel Ratna, Padmasree, Padma Vibhushan, Arjuna Award etc.
