Table Tennis is a Great Sport and Fun Hobby
Paddles and Balls
I Own a Ping Pong Table
When I was 11 years old my father bought a new ping pong table which we set up in our basement. I moved away at 21 and purchased a new table for myself at age 24. Normally, I played against my sister or one of my friends. Once I got better I began to play solo against the table folded in half. It is easy to keep a fast moving ping pong ball on the table for a while after you learn the game but slamming and returning slams are the toughest parts to master. To me this game is addicting and once you are playing with someone on par with you then the fun really begins. So stay relaxed and keep your eyes focused on the ball and you will be just fine.
I would love to hear from everyone out there. Please share your thoughts and any memories you have about Table Tennis.

Compete with Friends
Sometimes me and my buddies played 2 on 2 but usually we played one on one with several others in elimination tournaments. Sometimes a bet was on the line but more often than not, winning brought bragging rights and trash talk galore. Anytime my family had get parties for the holidays the family always used to flock to the table tennis paddles and argue over who goes first. To be honest, a few of my buddies are horrible but it is cause they rarely play but on the other hand, several of my friends take it serious and can play really well. I played so often that I just improved over time.

Two major stress relievers that I use when I am having a bad day is to hit the boxing heavy bag and the other is to play table tennis. As a child I had these two items in our basement but as an adult I keep them in my separate garage. It is fun to play another person for competition but it is also entertaining to play someone just for ships and giggles. Also, it is cool to fold the table in half and compete against the table when you find yourself lacking a human opponent. Believe me it can be a great method for blowing off steam. Some folks use billiards well I prefer ping pong to lighten my load or at least to ease my mind for a spell. The sport has different games you can play but you can also make up games to play.

Presidential Ping Pong
Practice Makes Perfect
When I began playing ping pong at my middle school and at my home I was pathetic. But after a few years I began to dominate and slam on most people. People always say Ping Pong is all about hand to eye coordination but that is not true once you are playing an elite opponent. At the top level it is all about footwork or your foot position especially when it comes to returning slams or corner shots. Keep practicing and learning from and correcting any flaws in your game.

Play to Win
Play to win is my motto. Don't get me wrong, Ping Pong is very entertaining but part of the fun is trying to be the best and conquer your foes. In this sport you can't run the clock off to pull out a victory like you can in basketball and football. Once you see an opening it is vital to go for the score. If you just hit the ball over the net back and forth without scoring then the opponent will take the score. Always enjoy yourself but remember the goal is not just to return the ball over the net but rather to make it bounce off the other side of the table and score points.
