Why Use A Ground Blind For Deer Hunting?

Because of the number of accidents caused by hunters falling from tree hunting stands, ground hunting blinds are becoming the best and safest way to hunt for whitetail deer. Comfort during bad weather conditions and ease of use also factor in this choice. What are the best and cheapest ground hunting blinds? This article is intended to tell you just that.

Whether you are a novice whitetail deer hunter or an experienced trophy buck hunter, having a good ground hunting blind can be one of the most important factors in bagging a trophy whitetail buck. But many of us do not have the means to just go out and buy the most expensive hunting ground blind on the market.

Or perhaps we do, but we still want to save a few bucks so we can brag to our buddies about what a great deal we got on a new ground hunting blind. We will start by looking at the choices of hunting blinds for use on level ground and areas with good cover.

Best Cheap Pop Up Blinds

Perhaps the best and cheapest of the many different choices is the pop up ground hunting blind. Easy to transport and easy to set up, it comes with different features and camouflage patterns to suit your terrain and hunting styles. Seating can be for a single hunter or for several, depending on your own particular situation.

Some of these great pop up ground blinds also serve well as bow hunting blinds because of the room and height required for the archer to draw and release the arrow. Besides inhibiting the hunter’s smell from dispersing in the wind, many of these pop up ground blinds have scent inhibitors in the fabric of the blind itself.

Another very important plus for the pop up ground hunting blind is the ability to provide, not only protection from the rain, but a block to the cold winds which make deer hunting unbearable in some parts of the country. These type hunting blinds set up and take down very easily and will last for several deer and turkey hunting seasons. Spend a little or spend a little more. Very reasonably priced too!

Where to place your new ground hunting blind

Now that you have decided which type ground hunting blind you need, it is important to place it in the right spot. If you are unsure exactly where you would have the best opportunity to bag a trophy buck, then ask a veteran to help you out. They remember how it was to be a rookie whitetail deer hunter. It is likely they are glad to return the favor given them many years before.

If you cannot find this type assistance, then read everything you can both online and in hunting magazines about correct placement of a deer hunting stand. There are usually many articles discussing this right before the deer season begins. Check out the Books offered on this page for helpful advice from experienced whitetail trophy buck hunters.

Ground Blind Hunting Accessories

Besides the ground blind itself, you will certainly want a good comfortable chair unless you have chosen a chair blind. In very cold weather it may be necessary to have some sort of heat source inside of the blind. A simple light source is always helpful too, especially when arriving at or leaving from your ground blind.

Have you seen those mirrored blinds? They reflect their surroundings and are practically invisible. Expensive though I'm sure. Nice Hub.
