The Excitement of the Women's MITB Ladder Match

Former Los Angeles Lakers beat writer, future screenwriter, and currently enjoy writing about the amazing superstars of the WWE!

Eight women within the WWE will enter the squared circle at Money In The Bank to put it ALL on the line in hopes of capturing the coveted briefcase that will change their careers forever. There will be four women from Raw and four women from Smackdown, but there will only be ONE winner.

The Money in the Bank Ladder Match has turned into one of the most exciting and most brutal bouts in WWE history. Now that the women have taken their place into the spotlight, for the past two years they have been given the opportunity to climb that ladder to achieve a dream of becoming champion.

This year, Alexa Bliss, Carmella, Natalya, Naomi, Dana Brooke, Mandy Rose, Ember Moon, and Bayley will step into the hazardous war zone in hopes to not only make history on that given night, but to cement themselves in the record books after becoming either the Raw OR Smackdown Women's champion.

Let's take a look at all eight of these women and break down the reasons why they can possibly be climbing the ladder, grabbing that contract, and retrieving the opportunity of a lifetime.

Alexa Bliss

Alexa Bliss is intelligent, she thrives under pressure, and she will do whatever it takes to win a big-time match. Those are the exact qualities you need in order to defeat seven other women and seize the opportunity on becoming champion.

The Goddess of WWE placed her name in the history books last year when she captured the Money in the Bank briefcase. Who can ever forget when Bliss then attacked Ronda Rousey AND Nia Jax and successfully cashed-in her contract on the same night she won it? That's history-making at its finest as Alexa did what she does best--steal the spotlight and shock the entire wrestling world.

With her tremendous mic skills, along with her intelligence inside the squared circle, the now 5-time Women's champion has become one of the most polarizing figures in all of WWE. There is zero doubt in my mind that the WWE Universe could very well witness another memorable Moment of Bliss at Money in the Bank.

Being a former NXT Women's champion, RAW Women's champion, and one-half of the first ever WWE Women's Tag Team champions, Bayley knows what it's like to have gold around her waist.

When she first arrived on the main roster of WWE, the entire Universe rejoiced in pride as their favorite NXT superstar was finally given the chance to shine on the big stage.

After a few years of misfortunes and missed opportunities, it seemed as if Bayley had fallen off the rails a bit. In 2019, however, Bayley has rejuvenated herself when competing inside that ring and has reminded us all just how dedicated she is about her craft.

Now that she's all on her own after arriving on the blue brand, can the huggable baby-face step back into glory? We'll find out if Bayley can win the big one on her lonesome once again.

Mella Is Money. While there's really no need to say anything more than that, I will proceed anyway...

Two years ago, the moon-walkin', trash-talkin', Princess of Staten Island made history when she became the first ever Ms. Money in the Bank. The historic moment (with no help from James Ellsworth whatsoever) was a career-defining one for Carmella. Nobody expected her to pull off the win that night and THAT was what made her victory so much sweeter.

One of the best cash-in moments happened when Carmella seized the opportunity against an ailing Charlotte Flair and moon-walked her way back to the locker room with the Smackdown Women's title in hand.

Could we all see another Mellabration, along with a celebratory dance break, if Carmella snatches the briefcase once again and reunites with Frankie?

Dana Brooke

The one word that continuously correlates with the Money in the Bank match is OPPORTUNITY. Dana Brooke has been itching at the chance to get herself into the forefront of the title picture for quite some time now.

After being Charlotte's sidekick and the intelligent statistician for Titus World Wide, it's now time for Dana to prove to the entire WWE Universe why she deserves to be in the ultimate spotlight.

The Money in the Bank Ladder Match is the perfect time and place to show off just how incredible Dana can be inside the ring. With the hard work and dedication that she has instilled within her heart, it wouldn't surprise me if this woman makes us all raise our eyebrows and nod our heads in approval next Sunday night.

Can Dana shock the world, gain the respect from the WWE Universe, and win this monumental match?

Ember Moon

Perhaps a favorite going into this Money in the Bank match, fans of Ember Moon have been impatiently waiting for The Shenom to get her moment in the sun. After returning from injury, Ember wants to remind the world just how dangerous she could be inside that squared circle.

Whether or not Ember's hand is raised in victory while holding the briefcase next Sunday night, her career will undoubtedly have plenty of monumental moments for all of us to enjoy. Her explosiveness inside the ring is really something to behold and the respect she has gained in the short amount of time on the WWE roster speaks volumes.

Although the future of this young superstar is incredibly bright, Ember Moon will look to 'eclipse' her competition until a coveted title is secured around her waist. It's only a matter of time...

Mandy Rose

The sultry and seductive Mandy Rose has been demolishing through the competition on Tuesday nights as of late. The confidence that oozes from The Golden Goddess proves that she has the mental capacity to conquer any goal she desires.

Her performance during the Elimination Chamber match for the new Women's tag team championships alongside her partner, Sonya Deville, raised a whole lot of eyebrows. You could tell that the feeling of respect was forming for the blonde bombshell as she put it all on the line inside the steel structure, showing that she can perform greatly under pressure.

It's an extremely huge possibility that Mandy can not only prove to the WWE Universe that she's ultimately tough enough, but that she can defeat former champions in one of the biggest matches of the year on her journey towards the gold.

As a two-time Women's champion and one of the most athletic superstars on the entire WWE roster, Naomi is certainly an astronomical threat to the other women in this ladder match. Her innovative in-ring style correlates perfectly to the crazy environment that Money in the Bank brings to the table.

The Master of the Glow hasn't been shy to the high-pressure moments thus far in her career as she has won major matches on the grandest stage of WrestleMania. Naomi is now ready to make history yet again in another high-pressure moment and dance her way towards becoming the new Ms. Money in the Bank.

What kind of incredible manuever will Naomi pull out of her bag of tricks during this ladder match that will make our jaws drop? With what she's done in the past, you just KNOW she'll do something amazing that will help her chances of being the woman to snatch that contract.

Last but certainly not least, we have the Queen of Harts, Natalya. As much of a storied career as Nattie has had, she's still as hungry as ever and continues to strive for greatness. She may not perform high-risk maneuvers that a ladder match usually provides the fans, but in a match like this, it's all about the years of expertise.

Natalya knows what it takes to win and it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest bit if the strong woman from Canada makes her family even prouder by winning this match. Now that her best friend, Beth Phoenix, has been by her side as of late, you can tell the level of drive and motivation has increased tremendously in Natalya.

You NEVER count out a member of the Hart Family, and next Sunday at WWE Money in the Bank, it's a very huge possibility that we can all see the pink and black rise up and come out victorious once again.

Nikki Cross (Replacing Alexa Bliss)

Unfortunately, Alexa Bliss had to be removed from this match due to injury. However, a VERY suitable replacement for The Goddess was named, and that replacement is none other than Nikki Cross.

The fiery, outlandish superstar was given the opportunity of a lifetime to be apart of one of the most iconic matches in WWE history. Money in the Bank matches are full of chaos and mayhem. What other woman fits that exact description more than Nikki?

The eccentric but lovable character that we all adore finally gets her moment to shine and with the unpredictability that the Money in the Bank match provides, who knows? We can be watching Nikki Cross cash in that briefcase and become a champion sooner than we expected to. I don't think anybody would mind seeing that happen!

The women of WWE have continued to raise the stakes over the past few years during this enormous Women's Evolution. I have zero doubt in my mind that these eight women competing in this ladder match will make us jump out of our seats, give us goosebumps up and down our arms, and have us all mutter the exciting phrase of "This is awesome!".

Money in the Bank is about changing someone's career, and next Sunday, one woman's destiny can become reality. WHO will walk out as the new Ms. Money in the Bank and secure herself a shot at a championship?!?

All I know is that whoever the champions are over the next year, they better be prepared. These women are hungry for gold and will jump at the perfect opportunity to cash that briefcase in as soon as humanly possible...

Who do YOU think will walk out WWE Money in the Bank with briefcase in hand?
