About FIFA World cup 2018
About Football-the game of Passion
Football
There are many games played now days. Different people have different tastes for games. Some enjoy playing cricket while others like playing hockey. I even like to play games. I like almost all outdoor and indoor games. However, I like football the most.
Football is one of the popular games throughout the world. It is a team game. It needs an open space and a ball. It is a game played with the legs. It needs a great deal of practice and stamina. In the beginning this game was supposed to be played by the Greeks. Later, the Roman army played in around 40 A.D. As the time passed rules and regulations were developed. In Nepal also, football was played by the army during the Rana regime. After 2007 B.S. the general public started playing the game and becomes popular then after.
There are two teams of players in this game. Each team will have 11 players and substitutes of 2 players in each. The ball required for the game is generally of 396 grams with 68.5 to 71 centimeter of circumference. It is played on a plain rectangular ground. The dimensions for the ground are generally 120 to 90 m length and 90 to 45m breadth. In International matches the dimensions are quite different. There are two goal posts at each breadth sides. The Height of the goal post is 2.44 m and length is 7.32m. The goal posts are guarded by goal keeper of each team and he is only allowed to touch the ball with his hands during the game. His main work is to defend the ball from entering the goal post. If either of the team kicks the ball into the goal posts of his opponent he is said to have scored one goal in the favor of his team. There are three players, who are responsible for the instructing and the fair playing of the game. One of them is referee and the other two are lines-men. In each team, the players are divided as follows. The goal keeper and backs are defense players. The forward players are attackers or offensive players. The right centre and left halves serve as defensive players or feeders to the forward line. The game is usually played in two halves of 45 minutes period and an interval is allowed for 10 minute. During the interval the team exchanges their sides.
There are different skills in a football game. Kicking, Dribbling, Tackling, Trapping, Heading and passing. All these skills are usually practiced regularly by a good player under the guidance of his coach. Besides these skills, different individual tricks are applied during the game. The reference is allowed to give penalties for unfair play or for indiscipline of the players during game.
