WWE Backlash Predictions

Updated on September 10, 2016

With the WWE and Intercontinental championships on the line along with the introductions of the Women's and Tag Team titles, the WWE Universe is going to be abuzz with who walks out of the PPV as champion.

The Usos vs The Hype Bros

With American Alpha out of the Tag Team title match, this leaves a spot open for a new contender.

The newfound tag team of Mojo Rawley and Zack Ryder aka The Hype Bros have one more shot after losing the tournament to Rhyno and Heath Slater. But they'll have a challenge with The Usos.

Following their tournament match with American Alpha, The Usos cemented their new status as heels when they attacked Jason Jordan and Chad Gable. The Usos are showing they aren't letting anything stand in their way, so it's a no-brainer that they'll walk away the winners in this match.

Rhyno & Heath Slater vs The Usos

With the Usos winning the contender match, they'll have a shot at the coveted titles. But they'll have to get through Rhyno and Heath Slater if they want them.

Either one of these teams would be great champs, but I'm going with Rhyno and Heath to win this one. Heath's gained the support of the WWE Universe as he worked relentlessly the last few weeks to earn a Smackdown contract. The fans love his partnership with Rhyno and the two of them as champions would be a benefit to Smackdown.

As for The Usos, an interference from American Alpha will cost them the titles and further increase the feud between the two teams.

The Miz vs Dolph Ziggler

For the Intercontinental championship, we'll have the Show-Off challenging The Miz. Last month, Ziggler was in the main event, now he's back to the mid-card much to the dismay of his fans.

Both men have a lot to prove.

For Ziggler, it's to show he's championship material. As for The Miz, he has to prove he's not a coward like GM Daniel Bryan called him a few weeks ago.

With the way the storyline is going this match could go any way. But in the end, I predict The Miz will win via a screwy finish.

Randy Orton vs Bray Wyatt

The Viper fighting against Bray Wyatt is a match made for the WWE Universe.

Bray Wyatt likes to get in the head of his opponents. Try as he might, he hasn't been able to shake Orton.

Both men are strong heading into this match, and both need a win. For Orton, returning from his injury and losing to Brock Lesnar, he needs to show he's still one of the top dogs in the WWE.

As for Wyatt, he's been on a losing streak as of late and the creative team doesn't seem to know what to do with him. A win for Wyatt is just what he needs to get back on top.

For this match, I'm leaning more towards Wyatt to win. A win would be a benefit for him and get him back into the main event picture on Smackdown.

Women's Six Pack Elimination Match

Smackdown will crown its inaugural Women's champion.

All six women are great and either one of them could walk out the champion.

Alexa Bliss and Carmella were two of the NXT draft picks. A championship win could secure their spots as WWE's top women. However, I feel it's too soon for them to be champions. I feel the WWE needs to build them up, have them connect with the audience first.

Naomi is one of the company's most athletic women, she's long overdue for a championship. Natalya is a veteran in the company and is looking to add another championship run to her resume.

Meanwhile, you have Smackdown's first women's draft pick, Becky Lynch looking to capture her first ever championship. Then let's not forget about the longest reigning Divas champion, Nikki Bella who just returned from a neck injury. Nikki Bella is looking to regain her spot as the top woman in WWE and winning the Smackdown’s women’s championship would be a great way of doing it.

I say the final two women will come down to Becky Lynch and Nikki Bella, with Nikki coming out on top.

Dean Ambrose vs AJ Styles

It’s the match that the WWE Universe has been waiting for.

Two of the hottest SuperStars on Smackdown will fight for the right to call themselves WWE champion.

Dean Ambrose has held the title since his MITB win back in June. While Ambrose’s win was a huge moment for him, there’s been some complaints that his reign has been stale.

Meanwhile, AJ Styles has been on a roll since his debut. His recent feud with John Cena has helped catapult Styles into the main event picture. With momentum running hot for Styles, many are rooting for him to win the championship on Sunday.

While Styles does deserve the championship, I don’t see him winning it just yet. I’m predicting Ambrose will win round one of their battle. Their feud started not too long ago and in my opinion, I feel it needs to develop more before their next bout.
