Feb. 23, 2014 saw one of the biggest Pay Per View events in the 'World Wrestling Entertainment' world. 'Elimination Chamber'- one of the most anticipated events of WWE, was used aptly to build up the match cards for the biggest PPV event of the year- 'Wrestlemania XXX'.
This year's Elimination Chamber featured seven professional wrestling matches and one pre PPV kickoff match. Even though wrestling isn't as aggressive as professional fights like UFC, the WWE officials have been successful in maintaining the viewer's interest by various means, the most prominent of which is plots and feuds developed over 2 to 3 months which are resolved in the PPV match. The superstars are portrayed as heroes or villians, depending on their performance and involvement with the crowd.

Main event: Elimination Chamber Steel Cage match

This year's cage match involved existing world heavyweight champion, Randy Orton, defending his title against some of the finest superstars currently in WWE, which includes Cristian, Antonio Cesaro, Daniel Bryan, Sheamus and John Cena. The main event started off with Cesaro and Sheamus. They were followed by Daniel Bryan, Christian, Cena and finally, Orton.
All those who wished to enjoy an uninterrupted match had to remain disappointed as the Wyatt brothers interferred and ensured that Cena remains bereft the title.
The Kane interferred to teach the mentally disturbed Daniel Bryan a lesson.
The following table contains vital information regarding the 2014 main event.

The Shield vs The Wyatt Family

Featuring some of the most infamous superstars currently in WWE, this six man tag team match was one of the biggest matches of the night as the winner would establish his group as the most powerful mob in WWE. Unexpectedly, the match ended on a depressing note. Seth Rollins was put through the announce table and Dean Ambrose ran away and disappeared into the crowd. It was all up to Roman Reigns to take care of the Wyatt brothers.
As predicted, he fell victim to the Wyatts and was pinned down, this being one of his very few losses since his appearance in WWE.

Batista VS Alberto Del Rio

Returned after a long absence and the winner of the 2014 Royal Rumble, Batista had faced multiple assaults by Del Rio, as a part of the pre PPV build up. Though Batista performed decently, he seems to have lost the spark and the destructive force he used to possess earlier.
In the match, though he emerged the winner, he was booed constantly mainly because of his crybaby nature and his close relations with the 'best for business' WWE officials. Del Rio emerged as the crowd's favorite in this match.

Big E Langston VS Jack Swagger

Though WWE is trying hard to uplift the image of Big E, his performance hasn't captured the attention and applause as is expected of him. His PPV performance was far better than his general performance though. The crowd supported the real Americans for most of the match.
Big E fought out of the patriot lock a few number of times. The match ended with Big E's 'Big Ending' and he retained the Intercontinental Championship title.

Titus O'Neil VS Darren Young

Considered to be among the under performers of the WWE, the former tag team partners and close friends Titus and Young entered into a feud last month because the former was tired of the latter's crybaby attitude. The buildup included Titus O'Neil beating up his partner and later, facing assaults in return a week before the PPV match.
Putting an end to this grudge match, Titus earned a clean win on this one.

The New Age Outlaws VS The Usos

One of the most agile and athletic performers in the WWE, the Usos put a great performance. They failed to keep their pre match promise of earning back their father Rikishi's Tag Team Championship title as Billy Gunn pinned down Jimmy Uso after a distraction from the Road Dogg.

Cameron VS AJ Lee

The psychotic AJ retained her title of the Diva's champion as the match was interred by Tamina Snuka. Snuka is AJ Lee's sidekick, but she gave a harsh blow to AJ's chin by mistake. But later made up for this as she interfered again to ensure Cameron ends up on the losing side.

Cody Rhodes & Goldust VS Ryback & Curtis Axel

Another impressive performance by the Rhode's brothers as they defeated the infamous tag team of Ryback and Curtis Axel.
The match ended with Cody hitting Curtis Axel with Cross Rhodes.
