What Are The Best Fishing Techniques?

Fishing is one of the most popular sports in the world and it is not hard to see why so many people love it.  It is a great way to enjoy the outdoors and can be a very competitive sport as well.  Whatever your motives for fishing may be either way the point is to catch fish, and there are a few fishing techniques that will help with this.  One involves choosing the right lures depending on what the water is like where you are fishing.

If you are fishing in clear water it is best to use dark colored lures because lighter colored lures would be too difficult to see.  Especially on a sunny day the light is going to reflect off the water and fish will hardly be able to see the lure at all.  On the other hand when you are fishing in darker, foggier waters you can use the bright colored lures as these will attract the fish.  Night fishing is a passion for many and it can be quite successful.

Make sure you stake out the right location for your night fishing and also try to get there before the sun sets.  The best fishing technique for night fishing is to get out there before nightfall, so you will not have to make noise with the boat and getting your rod ready which is just going to scare the fish away.  Bringing a black light is a good idea because it makes it easier to see the fish.  Some fishermen get spooked off by the idea of using black lights because they think they will frighten the fish but this is not true if you use it right.

Doodling is a commonly relied on method of fishing that works quite well in most instances.  Once you have attached your lure you simply drop the line to the desired depth.  Once your line has reached the desired depth you want to start wiggling it a bit.  This is the most relied on technique for fishing and works because predator fish will still it and think it is an injured fish.

These are all great fishing techniques that, when performed correctly, can help you on your fishing expeditions.  Of course over time you will figure out your own techniques that work for you.  It takes practice to become a great fisherman and you will be able to come up with your own tried and true techniques as well.  Fishing is a lot of fun and these techniques will help you catch the big one.
