What are the most interesting scenic places around your hometown?
The most scenic place in my hometown
I live in Florida actually Central Florida to be exact in the city of Deltona. I can think of several very scenic places I love to go but I would be here for days if I tried to speak of them all. I am going to mention one of the state parks that are actually very popular with the visiting tourists here as well as for the local like myself who go there frequently.
Blue Springs State Park
This very beautiful park is perfect for the nature lover or for a family day out. There are many fun and exciting things to do for folks of all ages. There is a great swimming area where the water is 72 degrees year round and it is so crystal clear a large amount of the visitors snorkel their way down to the natural spring boil. You can actually dive into the caverns as well. There is a great playground for the children and it is equipped with several cook out areas and pavilion's. Now if you are more nature type you can walk down the wooden boardwalks or simply take a long walk down the nature trail. If you are a camper you will just love the accomodations that they offer. There is a standard camping area and there is also cabins that are fully equipped with all necessities and sleep 6 or so people. Blue Springs is famous for its manatees as well as its rich history in the Thursby house which is part of the cities history and is located on the property with it's doors open for you to go in and tour. There is also narrated tours down the St John's River on board a pontoon boat and for those of you who would rather go on your own there is available kayaks and canoes for rental. It is a truly amazing place and it is only five dollars or so to enter with a car load. I have not mentioned all it has to offer however there would be more information available on the Florida State Parks website. This park is located in Orange City Florida only about twenty minutes outside of Daytona Beach.
