Updated on April 1, 2018

Wrestlemania, the Grandest Stage of them all, the Show of Shows, the Greatest Spectacle in Sports Entertainment, the Superbowl of Sports Entertainment is WWE's flagship event airing on Pay-Per-View (PPV) and the WWE Network. Wrestlemania 324 is set to take place on April 8, 2018, in New Orleans, Louisiana at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. This year WWE has one of its most stacked cards with a grand variety of potential show-stealing main-events. Therefore, the one thing on every wrestling fans' mind is what match will close the Show of Shows due to the large diversity of potential main-events. Now let's get to analyzing each potential main event's chance of closing the show.

Roman Reigns Vs Brock Lesnar

Roman Reigns Vs Brock Lesnar for the WWE Universal Championship was a match which was expected by many fans to occur at the event since last year's event. Roman Reigns, who the company is very intent on positioning as their main Babyface star has been on a rocky road towards the event. Becoming a grand slam champion by winning the Intercontinental Championship in 2017 and eventually losing the title to The Miz at Raw 25 in January 2018. He was also the 2nd last man in the 2018 Royal Rumble eventually being eliminated by the winner, Shinsuke Nakamura.

Shinsuke would go on to choose WWE Champion, AJ Styles as his opponent for the Show of Shows and Roman Reigns would go on to win the Elimination Chamber in February 2018 to face Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania 34. Even though it was expected to be the Main Event many fans were not quite excited when it was announced as the Main Event due to the fact the winner of the Royal Rumble is supposed to be in the Main Event meaning that AJ Styles Vs Shinsuke Nakamura for the WWE Championship should be the main event. However, WWE seems to be intent on making Roman Vs Brock the main event.

In my opinion, I believe Roman Vs Brock has the capability to be the main event but I have to agree with fans that it shouldn't be the Main Event. We have already seen the Brock Vs Roman main event at Wrestlemania 31 and we heard the reaction towards the main event towards the match and Roman himself. Roman is obviously not the most accepted Babyface in the company and him beating Brock in the Main Event would not garner that underdog heroic cheer the company would be hoping for to send fans home happy.

Therefore, I think this match should not close the show as the last time Wrestlemania was at the Superdome was Wrestlemania 30 where Daniel Bryan won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship to the fans' delight and Roman beating Brock will not receive near the amount of cheers as that moment did. This match is worthy of main eventing but there are just other matches on the card more fitting.

Daniel Bryan And Shane McMahon Vs Kevin Owens And Sami Zayn

The feud between Shane McMahon and Kevin Owens has been brewing for quite a long time on Smackdown LIVE going from Kevin headbutting and viciously attacking the Chairman of WWE, Vince McMahon to Kevin Owens defeating Shane McMahon in the Hell-in-a-cell with the help of Sami Zayn all the way to the present with them attacking and sidelining Shane and even attacking the newly cleared, Daniel Bryan.

So, this feud definitely is not short of momentum. The emotional announcement of Daniel Bryan finally being cleared by WWE after 2 years of in-ring retirement left fans with great excitement for his eventual return match. The storyline is just perfect and almost like a Cinderella story with Daniel Bryan returning to the ring at the same site where he achieved his biggest career accomplishment beating Triple H, Randy Orton and Batista all in the same night to become the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Wrestlemania 30. Fans are definitely invested in the storyline and it would be a great choice to close the show of Shows with Daniel Bryan's in-ring return.

Just imagine Wrestlemania 34 closing after Daniel Bryan submits either Sami or Kevin with the Yes! lock to a thunderous ovation of Yes chants similar to Wrestlemania 30.

Shinsuke Nakamura Vs AJ Styles

From the day WWE Fans realized that both AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura were signed to the same company, they have been wishing for the potential dream match between the two. Especially after Nakamura made his main-roster debut after Wrestlemania 33 on an episode of Smackdown LIVE, the same show which AJ Styles was a big part of as well.

The two have faced off before in New Japan Pro Wrestling at Wrestle Kingdom 10 in January 2016 for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship in a match rated 4.75 stars by the Wrestling Observer in which Shinsuke was the victor. The match left fans wanting more matches between the two but AJ would go on to leave NJPW and enter WWE. Shortly after Nakamura would go on to leave NJPW and enter WWE as well, making the fans' wish become closer to a reality.

The two would have a showdown to the thunderous reception by the crowd at the Money In The Bank pay-per-view in 2017. AJ Styles would go on to win the WWE Championship for the second time against Jinder Mahal in November 2017 and Nakamura would go on to win the 2018 Royal Rumble giving him the opportunity to face the World Champion of his choosing at Wrestlemania 34. Nakamura would obviously go on to choose WWE Champion, AJ Styles finally setting up the dream match between the two. Given the fact their previous match was so spectacular, their match at Wrestlemania 34 should also be spectacular as well.

Fans have been clamouring for this match for a very long time and are very anticipated to see the showdown. Due to the fact that Nakamura should be in the Main Event by default as he won the Royal Rumble, I believe WWE should be respectful and give the two, the Main Event slot. Their match will be spectacular and worthy of main event status and also fans will be very interested in the match and happy with whichever result WWE decides to go with (either AJ Styles winning or Shinsuke Nakamura winning).

Triple H and Stephanie McMahon Vs Ronda Rousey and Kurt Angle

Fans have been speculating for years on Ronda Rousey potentially joining WWE especially when she made an in-ring appearance at Wrestlemania 31 with The Rock, Stephanie McMahon. They have wished for a mixed-tag-team match between Rock and Rousey Vs Triple H and Stephanie. However, Ronda was still UFC Bantamweight Champion and signed to UFC. That dream became closer to a reality at the Royal Rumble event in 2018 when Ronda made her official WWE debut and also signed her full-time WWE Contract at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in 2018.

On an episode of RAW, Ronda would get the opportunity to choose her opponent for Wrestlemania 34 to which she chose Stephanie to the delight of fans and the disapproval of Stephanie and Triple H. RAW General Manager, Kurt Angle would go on to put himself as Ronda's tag team partner t fight Triple H And Stephanie McMahon in a mixed-tag-team match at the big event.

Ronda Rousey is definitely a big star stemming from her success in UFC and Hollywood. She brings a lot of media attention and interest to WWE with her debut at the Show of Shows. As well as, having big stars like Triple H and Kurt Angle who have wrestled classics over the years in the match makes for a very interesting contest.

Even though this match is heavily anticipated, I do not believe this match should be the main event of the show. It certainly has the interest, however, there is no telling if the match will live up to its hype with Ronda in-ring wise. Especially with so much other great matches on the card which have as much interest and can definitely live up to their anticipation.

Conclusion

This year features a very stacked card with a variety of big money matchups which makes it quite hard to decide which one should close the show. In my opinion, I would give Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles the baton to close the show as fans have been hoping for the match for a very long time and the winner of the Rumble should be in the main event as it would risk making the Royal Rumble insignificant if the winner doesn't main event Wrestlemania. The two have the capability to put on a stellar match and fans are very eager to see the match.
