Who Will Win the Uefa Champions League 2014

Updated on September 26, 2013

The UEFA Champions League

The UEFA Champions League is Europe's most prestigious tournament where all of the best clubs compete in the attempt to become the kings of European football. Many of the best teams don't consider their season as a successful one unless they qualify for this prestigious tournament.

The world's best players strive to play and do well in the UEFA Champions League and are willing to change their team if they

Due to the overwhelming success and popularity of Who will win the Champions League 2013, I have decided to create one for this year as well.

Feel free to bookmark this page as I will update it regularly with the latest statistics, facts and predictions as to who will win the UEFA Champions League 2014.

Group A

The first group consists of Manchester United, Shakhtar Donetsk, Bayer Leverkusen and Real Sociedad. Manchester United are the clear favorites of this group, being the most likely to contend the title amongst all of the other big teams in Europe. Shakhtar, Bayer and Real Sociedad will most likely be playing for the second place in this group and may also surprise us in the later stages of this tournament.

Group B

Group B is one of the most interesting groups in this year's tournament due to the strength of some of the teams. Real Madrid and Juventus are more likely to progress to the next stage, but will have to fight off some great competition from FC Copenhagen and Galatasaray. Real Madrid is expected to reach at least the finals of the Champions League due to their recent strengthening of the squad and record signing of Gareth Bale. Cristiano Ronaldo will be looking to play well and win some important matches for the Spanish giants.

Group C

Paris St Germain is expected to top group C due to the success of last year's campaign, almost defeating Barcelona in the knock-out stage last year. They will be challenged by Benfica who have the best chance of causing an upset. Olympiacos and Anderlecht will also challenge for first and second place, but are not expected to progress to the next stage of the Champions League.

Group D

The clear favorites to win this group is Bayern Munchen who are the defending 2013 champions. Manchester City will be looking to topple the German champions whilst also looking to make a great impression after two seasons of Champions League disappointment. Bayern Munchen are also hot favorites to win the 2014 Champions League, which will make things interesting this year.

Viktoria Plzen and CSKA Moskva will most likely be challenging each other for third place in this group, although they may provide us with a shock result against the two European giants.

Group E

2013 Europa League champions Chelsea are heavy favorites to win Group E with ease, but will seriously need to work hard without underestimating their competition. Basel, Schalke and Steaua Bucuresti are all capable of stealing some vital points away from Chelsea.

This group will be interesting as it will be very hard to predict who will progress to the later stages of the tournament. Each game will be important in this well-balanced group.

Group F

Group F is another well-balanced group with four very capable teams. Borussia Dortmund will be looking to making amends as they were very unlucky to lose in last year's Champions League final against Bayern Munchen. While Dortmund are looking to qualify to the later stages, Arsenal, Napoli and Marseille have ambitions of their own.

All teams in this group are a threat to each other and are very capable of progressing to the next round. Each match is important and every point will prove to be crucial until the very end of the group stage.

Group G

Atletico Madrid are favorites to win Group G, but will have to remain consistent to fight off tough competition from FC Porto and FC Zenit. Austria Wien is the odd team out and least experienced team in this group. They are not expected to qualify, but they may prove to be a hard team to beat.

FC Porto and Atletico Madrid have met in the Champions League group stage in previous years with FC Porto being more successful. This time round Atletico Madrid are the favorite team in this group with great form and playing with consistency in the Spanish La Liga.

Group H

Group H will be interesting because it will be the second year in a row where Barcelona will play against Celtic and AC Milan. These games proved to be exciting and very unpredictable. Barcelona are clear favorites to win this group, but AC Milan won't forget that they were knocked out by Barcelona last year which will make them want to redeem themselves this year.

Celtic managed to qualify to the next stage last year because they were able to steal a few points from games that they were expected to lose. It will be great to see whether Celtic or Ajax will be able to cause a few upsets and prove people wrong.

My prediction for this year will be very similar to my last year's prediction which was correct and appreciated by many. You may see it here: Who will win the Champions League 2013.

If you have a look at the competition's history or at least the previous six seasons you will notice a pattern. This pattern revolves around FC Barcelona. Barcelona won in 2008 and 2011; However, the teams who defeated Barcelona in the semi-finals in 2007, 2009, 2012 and 2013 were the eventual winners.

My prediction is: If Barcelona do not reach and win the finals, then the eventual winners will be the team which eliminates them.

After 2 matchday, Real Madrid and Bayern look quite good. They will be there for the trophy. Also to mention: BVB, PSG

At the end no one knows. CL is very unpredictable. Sometimes better team loose.

Last season, we were the second best defensive team in the EPL after ManCity. And we also Santi Cazorla, one of the most underrated middlefield player playing alongside Ramsey, Wilshere, Özil........

Oh yeah. I am so excited this season. In addition, we have a very handsome french bloke who is scoring goals and is doing well in hold up play. So at one title should be in this Football saison....

Ozil makes a big difference and the fact that Adam Ramsay is scoring a good amount of goals they should at least do better than last season! They have surprised a lot of people so far this season, you never know...

Realistically, Arsenal won't win the trophy. There is a wee hope since we have signed Özil and Flamini.
