Convicted Murderers Escape Upstate New York Maximum Facility Prison 6/6/2015

Updated on June 15, 2015

David Sweat (Left), Richard Matt (Right)

How do 2 Prisoners escape a maximum security prison?

Two prisoners used power tools to cut through the maximum security prison cell wall. When they cut through they simply followed a series of tunnels which led to a manhole. They obviously saw the perfect opportunity and seized it. But im baffled as to why two convicted murderers had access to power tools in the first place.

Who are these two men???

The man on the lefts name is David Sweat. He is currently serving a life sentence without the chance of parole for killing a Broome County Sheriff in 2002. While the man on the rights name is Richard Matt he is currently serving a 25 to life sentence for kiddnapping then beating him to death they are both considered to be armed and extremely dangerous. The govenor said in his own words that they are extremely dangerous.

Tunnels the men escaped through.

Key things to keep in mind!

* There have been no escapes from that part of the prison since 1865.

* Mr. Matt is 6 foot with black hair and hazel eyes. He weighs 210 pounds and has tattoos including “Mexico Forever” on his back, a heart on his chest and left shoulder and a Marine Corps insignia on his right shoulder.

* Mr. Sweat is a 5-foot-11 white male, with brown hair and green eyes, weighing 165 pounds, police said. He has tattoos on his left biceps and his right fingers.

* The biggest thing to note here is that the prison is located only 20 miles from the Canadian boarder so these guys could possibly be Scott free within the next few days.

Mr. Matt is no longer on the run. The sad thing is if he did not escape or if that woman basically reused to help them, he would be alive today. He would be sitting in a cell but at least he would be alive. Mr Sweat more or less hit closer to home since it happened a town away and the girlfriend of the deputy sheriff that got killed is related to one of our friends
