Animals I've Known

Updated on September 22, 2013

I'm Surprized At The Animals I've Run In To The Last Few Years

I feel blessed that I live in an area where wildlife is so accessible. In a time where human encroachment on the habitats is a news topic I see all the time, the changes we've made as a whole is starting to reverse some of the trends of decline in the past decades.

I've chosen this year to stay local with my vacations and get my camping bug going again. I have seen more wildlife this year than I have in many years. I am happy to see these and to show them to you.

This Was Amazing

So we setup camp in a national park and we were just setting up our tent. Now I am usually quiet when I am working in a campground , not because of the neighbors of the two foot kind, but because I want to hear the nature around me. The momma came out to see us set up our tent and to show us her newborn baby.

Sometimes You Just Have To Scratch

We happened on this big guy when he had an itch. It was obvious that this was his favorite scratching post. We watched him roll and wallow in the dirt while he scratched his back and cover himself in sun-protection as well.

I've seen a whole lot more than those pictures here. So so quick I had not way to take a photo. Others were seen when I didn't have a camera. The memorable ones were with a moose mamma and her twins, a cougar, a silver fox, a red fox, a black wolf, a badger a martin a bald eagle, a harrier hawk, an osprey, many coyotes and list goes on. Whats on your list?
