#1 Take a notepad and write down every single possible thing that you like and then what you like to do (as in.... Eat, drink, walk, run, bike, bowling, hiking, trying a new activity from your kid past like jumprope, board games, watching funniest home videos, music videos that make your heart rise in a good way, listening to country music if you usually enjoy rock basically doing things your not use to doing. Including waking up and hour early walking outside, taking a nap in the middle of the day. Going to the zoo or SeaWorld or somewhere someplace anywhere you can go. Write it all down from 1 to 10 or 1 to 100 or 1000 if thats what it takes.
#2 Take your miscellaneous list of things to do, things you like, things you think of but don't normally do, put it all together and mix it all up, you will give your mind a jumpstart and you wont remember why you were bored.
#3 Read read and read all about what you wrote down and start selecting what you want to do and keep going back to this list when you run out of things to do or place to go.
#4 Call some people, involve them in some of your choice things to do to make your interests more exciting and they may have things to offer you enjoy as well.
#5 Exercise choose something new, something NEW NEW NEW and NOT on your list something NEW.
#6 Visit a health food store even if you are not a healthier eater. If you are already a healthy eater, try a new deli or going someplace similar to Britta's Cafe for example www.brittascafe.com
#7 Buy a pack of markers, you know colorful ones and color something, they say it turns on the other side of your brain the "creative side"
#8 Google things to do, Google key words like how to cure boredom or whatever you want to google & see what comes up.
#9 Go to the bookstore and walk through all the sections and get to know yourself, eventually you will find yourself in the same section of interest and hang out there little more.
#10 Detail and clean your living environment including windows and floors and air out your home so you can clear your mind.
I've been bored maybe a couple times ever. The 10 steps above are exactly what I would do when I cant choose what to do at any moment and I have a short attention span to anything other then the things I like to do therefore, works for me, you should try it too. Hope this helps, Lanea :-)
