    Why is soccer neglected or not as appreciated as it should be in the United States?

    in my opinion, Americans like high scores, or tough action.  Soccer has neither.  Soccer is based off of passion, endurance, skill, stamina, and a few other qualities that lack in the modern american sports.  unless soccer has fights or the score is over 20 its not going to succeed sad

    Could it be big business not supporting football?  Football is a game of two 45 minute halves.  When the USA hosted the world cup, it wanted four smaller quarters so that there would be more time for advertising, FIFA, the ruling body suggested the USA comply with the format of the game or not host the cup.  Big Business wants to rule the roost, they can't, all FIFA say is don't play then.  football has got along for over a century without the USA, it can continue without the USA, .

    I think because there are more "big" sports over there such as Basketball, American Football, Baseball and Soccer is still relatively new.
