   Is There A Sport That You Would Like See Added To The Olympics?
   
   There are so many unusual sports that you never think about until the Olympics rolls around. Synchronized swimming, race walking, and trampoline competitions are just some of unique sporting events in the Olympics. So what would you like to see that isn't already played?

   Ping Pong.  Chess.  American Football or Rugby.  Supreme Cheer/Dance.

      Ping Pong is an Olympic sport. It is referred to as Table Tennis though.

   There are several disciplines of Motorsport including cars and motorcycles that are extremely skillful and require much more than just sitting in a car and driving for example -
   
   Autotesting:
   Autotesting involves a series of tests, generally around traffic cones, to measure precision driving skill. The tests often include stopping with the front and rear wheels straddling a line, and always end stopping in a garage (usually marked out with cones). Sections of each test are usually completed in reverse. Cars involved can be standard road cars or ones specially built for autotest
   
   Driving Display/Stunt Teams:
   Amazing displays of precision driving including two wheel driving, dance routines, fire stunts and freestyle displays.
   
   Trial Bike events and Motorcycle Stunt/Display Teams would also be great inclusions for something a bit different and unique.

      Interesting suggestion Suzie. I guess stunt/display riding/driving would be a bit like a modern day equivelant of show jumping's dressage event. Maybe motocross - like mountain bikes, but with motorcycles - would be exciting.

   Women's softball and  mens baseball.  But, the USA is dominant in those sports.  So, those had to be taken out.

   As a cricket lover I would love to see Cricket in Olympic.  And I guess that is Sri Lanka's ( I'm from Sri Lanka ) best bet at winning an Olympic medal as well. Five day tests are out of the question, maybe 50 over match but I think the best fit is T20 Cricket matches.

   I would personally love to see golf added as an Olympics sport. Unlike American football, golf is more worldly and would attract many athletes from all parts of the world.

    I believe the Olympics should really be about tests of natural physical and athletic ability - ie: events like athletics, boxing, swimming, but not games of skill like tennis or soccer or basketball which all have their own prestigious major championships.
    With that in mind I can think of one old fashioned athletic discipline which is usually regarded as a trivial fun activity, but which in reality is a true and intensely exacting test of strength, stamina, technique and teamwork. I'm talking about 'tug-of-war' in which two teams on opposite ends of a rope pull against each other attempting to drag the opposition over a line, or off their feet. Anyone who has seen a tug-of-war contest will know how much effort goes into it and how exhausting it is. It's also a sport or athletic discipline which could easily be adapted to exciting Olympic competition with different events for men and women, weight categories or different team sizes. One could even have individual events or 'doubles' events. I truly believe tug-of-war - which was actually an Olympic event until 1920 - should be brought back as pure athletic sport. I believe it could be hugely popular if presented in the right way.

    I am embarrassed to admit I do not follow the Olympics, nor do I watch television.  With that said, if Archery is not a part of it, then I would like to see that, since it's been a hobby of mine since I was a child.

       Archery is a part of the Olympic programme Rosana. I think Asian nations dominated this year - notably South Korea.

    I remember last year they were talking about pole dancing becoming an Olympic sport.  I haven't seen it on the television this year though.

    I believe that cricket and/or rugby ought to be featured in the Olympics. They may not be big sports in America, but they are fairly popular internationally. If basketball can be in the Olympics, which is a dominate US sport, then I think a sport like cricket, which is dominate in the UK, Central Asia, and many other places should be added.

    Thanks for all of the great responses to this question. I'm still trying to decide who to give the best answer too. For my pick of sports I would like to see added to the Olympics, I would like to see Dodgeball (kind of surprised nobody picked that one), Arm Wrestling, and Mixed Martial Arts added to the Olympic games.

       Arm wrestling is a good choice. As for mixed martial arts - Is that two different martial arts combined together, or is it - like 'mixed' doubles in tennis - men grappling with women? Now there's a thought :-)

    I feel billiards should be added in Olympics as it has many forms of game like snooker, carom billiards, english billiards, pool etc. There are many professional players in these games who could compete in Olympics if billiards is added.
