After awakening I went to the PC. Fired 'er up, poked my head into HP. Saw this question Marcy, thought of Texas, relatives near Byran & College Station, then opened a window in front of this desk. Next, drew the blinds low not to offer much light to the outside since near 2 AM. Tomorrow is a school day. They open the windows too! Next, I pondered . . . then went to the front door.
I chuckled muttering "I use to beat the heat with a stick on hiking trails in the forest on the weekends." Now, that seems just too far of a drive. I still have the stick next to the front door just to be safe in case it is needed.
Sometimes I walk the neighborhood and look for racoons, possums, and stuff like that. Entertaining to say the least of those critters getting into mischief and the air is cooler on walks. If they are curled up and sleeping I leave 'em alone.
There is heat now, yet is closer to the mid 60's and overcast outside. Oddly it is about the same in Sweden, but it is daytime there. Usually I chill out and cool off nowadays and nights most recently by taking my shirt off. Naps help too. However I am usually at the PC doing research.
Too hot when inside gets above 90 and reaches above 100 when outside is in the 80's+. Yup, a mobile home and mine is metal. I still like PJ bottoms when inside even when hot during the day. Go figure. Inside is always a minimum of +10 degrees.
I always check the PC temp too, since no A/C. It is about 80 there now under the desk. Seems the A/C is an arm and a leg. Leaving me with only one of each I decided best to give my fish to some kids, since without A/C those fish wouldn't survive. That was an early Christmas eve gift.
Food does not usually do the trick for me. Soothing does! They don't have to be mixed. Soothing could be music, silence is golden at times, remember the window is open and the neighbors behind me have kids. So, no music unless I use ear phones. Then I pretend I am in a cockpit of an airplane. That is both fun and soothing. Even though ice cream is in the fridge, I am diabetic so no food until 8 AM unless I cheat. Hurrmph, cheat, me?
A vacation does do the trick especially if in the south pacific. I like the Bahamas, yet really, if I am going to be dreaming of a vision, well, then Fiji sounds better to me. I could pretend to be like Hemmingway and pound the keyboard writing this or that. Works for me. Sometimes poetry strikes the fancy, and well, who knows what then.
Well, vacation is over,
