Who was the best coach in sports history?
There is no shortage of names that fill the list of great sports coaches from Phil Jackson, to Bill Walsh, Joe Torre and Scotty Bowman. In your mind, who was the very best?
Sir Alf Ramsy when he was the manager/coach of the England football team that won the world cup in 1966.
I can't say I've had the pleasure of learning about him. Yet.
In my somewhat narrowed opinion it would be Scotty Bowman! He has coached teams to a record number of Stanley Cups (10) and he is significantly yet hidden behind the scenes for the newly successful Chicago Black Hawks in which his son is the General Manager. Way back in the late 60s and early 70s before he coached the Canadians he took the St. Louis Blues to the cup finals year after year with mere left overs... He is amazingly successful. He is the "Vince Lombardy" of hockey! He is the Yoda of hockey.
I've only begun to learn about him. An amazing coach as proven by his success.
I would also like to mention a college football coach named Fielding (Harris) Yost. During his 25 seasons as the head football coach in Ann Arbor, Yost's Michigan Wolverines won six national championships, captured ten Big Ten Conference titles, and
Dean Smith of UNC of course! A decent man who ran a clean winning basketball program almost for forever.

Are there any sports that don't have instant replay, but need it?American Football relies heavily on instant replay for the refs to make the right calls. Are there other sports that need to have instant replays for the refs to make the right decisions?
