Can you construct the all-time best NFL defense?

Alright football fans.  Having issued my NBA challenge, I'm switching to the NFL.  Using your best knowledge of football history, who would you put on the all-time defense?

Based on a 4-3 defense, my safeties: Jack Tatum and Ronnie Lott, Corner backs: Deion Sanders and Lester Hayes, Linebackers: Lawrence Taylor, Dick Butkus, Ray Nitschke and Defensive Line man: Reggie White, Bruce Smith, Leroy Selmon, Joe Greene

Was Selmon a defensive tackle or end?  Where do you have Nitschke playing?

I think Alphadogg is right to go 4-3.  If you have good defensive linemen you're better off with four up front.  I would choose Fred Dean, Joe Greene, Bob Lilly, and Reggie White up front.  The LBs are Ted Hendricks, Jack Lambert, and Lawrence Taylor.  And the DBs are Champ Bailey, Kenny Easley, Dick Night Train Lane, and Ronnie Lott.  If I can have a 12th man I like Alan Page.

That front could probably win games by themselves.  Nice group, though I would've take Butkus over Lambert.

Reggie White, Lee Roy Selmon, Joe Greene, Bob Lilly, on the line. LT, Lambert, and Butkus for linebackers. The secondary would be Lott, Tatum, D.Sanders and Mel Blount. honorable mention to Deacon Jones, Alan Page, Darrel Green, Ray Lewis and Ray Nitschke.

The mixture of that lineup is awesome.  Greene and Lilly in the middle is frightening with Lambert and Butkus behind them.  Then you throw Sanders and Blount on the edges?  Not fair.
