Can Notre Dame continue to be a College Football powerhouse with their tough academic standards?

I say no. They need the Stanford model and forget about national championships. There's nothing wrong with that. With the cheating scandal that was revealed this week and four players suspended, their hopes for the new playoff system are done. In today's environment, you can't sustain both academic integrity and football prowess.

I just think ND is delusional. Stanford has had great success but they can never compete on the same level as Alabama, or Texas A&M in the long term. It's the same for ND. That's okay. Their priorities are correct.

Sam, you're right, but in today's environment, the kids don't have time to study meaningful and with the new rules for the power conferences (basically they make up the rules), ND will be at a disadvantage even more in the coming years.
