A professional golf player? Or just a golf player? To become a pro you have to play golf religiously at club level, if you turn out to be head and shoulders above your peers, and your handicap is something special, then you will know that the time is right. The bottom feeders, the up and coming players, they tend to invest their own money on tours to get their name out there, same with tennis players. If you can prove yourself at low level tournaments, then you will find a backer. But the hard work, the sweat, the tears, the sacrifice, that is what makes you a pro golfer. You can't buy the talent, and there is no substitute for the sacrifice.
