Gifts for Atlanta Falcons Football Fans
Gifts for the Atlanta Falcons or NFL Fan!
I have been an Atlanta Falcons fan since the late 1970s. I was in my first year of middle school when Falcon Fever set in.
My parents weren't then and never have been big football fans, but they indulged me by allowing me to watch the games on tv and tolerated my armchair quarterback outbursts at the officials, the coaches and the yes, even the players on "my team".
The Atlanta Falcons were an expansion team that joined the NFL in 1965 and played their first season in the NFL in 1966.
Rankin Smith was the owner at the time and for decades after. Many fans felt the Falcons were held by the family as a tax write-off as there didn't seem to be any improvement for years. In fact they didn't have their first winning season until 1971. The winning seasons were few and far between, so they received very little respect from the football community.
Today, they are recognized as a force to reckoned with.

The Atlanta Falcons and I have spent many heartbreaking moments and entire seasons together. But I also hold onto many more memories that would take my breath away as they overcame odds and obstacles to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat in the last seconds of a games, and in some cases, defeat from the jaws of victory.
I am a true Atlanta Falcons fan. I have loved my hometown team even through the off the field trials and tribulations that have plagued the team throughout the years.
Wishing you and your team Happy Holidays!
