My Best Leatherman Multi Tool Review
This is My Take on The Leatherman Multi-tool
Lately there has been a shift from single use folding pocket knives to a folding multi-tool kit that one can carry in a sheath. I have a Leatherman Wave multi-tool and since I first received it I don't think I've gone a day without pulling it out for some use or another. It is my tiny tool of choice these days but it wasn't my first. As you can see from the picture the engraved letters are almost worn smooth. It takes a lot of use to do that.
My first pocket knife was a Boy Scout folding pocket knife. It had two blades a large one and a small one. It also had a can opener on one end and a bottle opened and flat blade screwdriver on the other end. There was no end to the uses I had for that knife for I was always seen with it in hand. I also sharpened that knife so many times that the blade was more like a fishing knife by the end of it. I carried that knife everywhere for ten years until it was lost in a move across Canada.
Leatherman Wave Multi Tool
The Leatherman Wave; the model I have, has multiple screw drivers, a can and bottle opener, a large blade, a serrated blade, a saw and a doubled sided file, a small pair of scissors. It opens to be a pair of pliers with a wire cutter and stripper built in as well. I've used almost every part of the Leatherman Wave in my possession the only part I haven`t used is the lanyard ring which stays tucked away as I use the belt pouch to carry it around.
Leatherman Multi Tool Wave
This was my first full sized pocket tool. I used it so much the nylon sheath had worn out but that says loads for the use of the Leatherman Wave. It is that good.
There are other Leatherman tools as well. Choose one to match your lifestyle and needs
If you use yours as much as I do upgrade to the leather pouch. It looks and wears better.
There are many accessories as well.
Leatherman Keychain Multi Tool
Now the Leatherman Wave wasn't my first multi tool. That was my Scout knife. Bu it wasn't my first Leatherman either. My first Leatherman multi tool was the keychain Micra.. it folds down to a much smaller package that I carry around on my keychain. It opens to a set of scissors much larger than on the full sized Wave, so I still use the Micra a lot just for that. I mainly use this tool for clipping my nails and keeping them looking as neat as I can. It carries a file and various screwdrivers and a bottle opener. It has a set of tweezers but they are lacking it their functionality. So as long as I don't get any splinters, this tool is great and gets lots of use.
Getting it for an anniversary present shows me the wife knows I like functional gifts, being a Capricorn and all that. She did good by this one. Come to think about it, she was the one that got me the Wave as well. She's the best.
