Buy Trekking Equipment Online - Stores Selling Trekking Items near Delhi

Updated on April 3, 2011

If you are looking to buy trekking equipment like sleeping bag, rucksack, ice axe, and few other stuff, then don’t be confused, because there are some best ways to procure these items in various places in and around Delhi and also via online stores. I am based in Delhi and know about a few stores like Stikage and Adventure 18. My personal experience with Stikage has not been very good and I haven’t heard good things about Adventure 18 either from a friend who visited them. Then, there is MountCraft in Dehradun. As I was confused on my own about this, I sent an email to some of my friends who are into trekking, rock climbing, and other adventure sports activities and recreation enquiring about some stores selling trekking items near Delhi. They are regular trekkers and know each and every thing about what to buy and where to buy travel gear from. I got some satisfactory tips from them which I am listing down below so that travel sports enthusiasts searching for where to buy trekking equipment online or in and around Delhi can derive some benefits. After receiving the emails, I realized that it is really difficult to have a single answer as experiences vary from person to person, but I would like to share this useful information about trekking equipment stores in and around Delhi with all of you.

One more thing, some of the email responses I got were in favor of buying trekking equipment online from stores like Ebay and Amazon if you are unable to discover a good trekking store in your area. They said you can buy trekking items like trekking poles, backpacking and hiking stuff from brands like Black Diamond and Leki like antishock trekking poles in different colors at Ebay or you can buy trekking items at Amazon like Mountainsmith Carbonlite Pro Trekking Poles or Men's Altitude Hiking Boots by Hi-Tec or Women's Jannu Lo Trekking Shoe by Lowa.

Email Responses about Trekking Stores Near Delhi

Rohan: Found some good stuff at Rock Sport Outdoors at Rajendra Bhawan, New Delhi. Their Cliffline brand backpacks and accessories are comparatively better than any Stikage or Mountcraft and reasonably priced. Sleeping bags are also good enough and moderately priced. Much better they have Boll sacks and Rock Empire brands which are highly priced. But if one is looking at a long-term leisure trailing the mountains not a bad idea to invest in these. The good thing is India is now getting the leverage of foreign products in trekking and mountaineering sport and we also have options of buying online. Fyi, Boll brands are made in czech and used by their army men as well as other neighboring countries.

Shantanu: For Camera bags, try Lowe-Pro stuff. Excellent imported make and recommended for Nikon range of SLRs. They are reasonably priced shoulder camera bags.

Look for something which is a camera bag with space for clothes. There are a couple of them in their range.

Suitable for one or two SLR camera body plus four lenses plus accessories plus space for 3 days clothes plus external tripod socket.

Priced approximately 3000 INR or 89 dollars and above.

Surya: If you want to buy quality equipment in Rishikesh, you will get it from Protos Adventure in Rishikesh. They sell all imported equipment, i.e., CAMP, ALPINIST, etc. an Italian trekking company. The equipment is good but is costly. You can contact Mr. Anil a representative of this company in Delhi at 09810048579.

Besides the above, there are several other trekking items to buy online like on Amazon, you can buy:

  1. Petzl Quark Ice Axe at 248.95 US dollars.
  2. Cobra Ice Tool by Black Diamond.
  3. Rothco European Style Rucksack Backpack.
  4. Coleman Green Valley Cool-Weather Sleeping Bag at 33.88 dollars.
  5. Columbia Men's Silver Ridge II Convertible Pant for Hiking at just $38.95 to $65.00.
  6. KALIN Trekking Handlebar for just 12.97 dollars.
  7. Arkon Motorcycle Mount with RAM GPS Holders for 17.96 dollars at Amazon.

 Best of luck
