Chicago Jiu Jitsu Tournament Center
Every year there are several organizations that consistently hold jiu jitsu and grappling tournaments in Chicago, IL. Each organization has their own calendar of events which can make organizing a competition schedule very time consuming. This is an up-to-date, all in one, calendar of jiu jitsu tournaments in the Chicago area.
I update this frequently so I recommend you bookmark this page if you are a Chicagoland competitor. Here you will find upcoming tournaments, information, reviews, and other tournament resources.

April 30th - May 1st 2011
NAGA returns in 2011 with 3 tournaments in Chicago; the first is NAGA Chicago.
NAGA Chicago has become a 2-day event after last year's disastrous event which was completely unprepared for the mass of competitors that were in attendance. The tournament was unorganized and behind schedule. I arrived at 10am and did not fight until 7pm that night! NAGA assures its competitors that they have reorganized and staffed up to handle the Chicago crowd.

Chicago Open International IBJJF Championship
The IBJJF brought this tournament to Chicago for the first time in 2010, and now they are bringing it back for 2011. I competed in the Chicago International Open in 2010 and am planning on competing again in 2011. The IBJJF is a smooth, professional tournament with very professional officials.

“If you attend only one or two tournaments a year I would highly recommend that you attend an IBJJF tournament. I have never experienced the same professionalism, knowledge, and superior officiating at any other tournament.”

NAGA Midwest will be a 2-day event like NAGA Chicago. NAGA assures its competitors that they have reorganized and staffed up to handle the Chicago crowd.
