Anthony Deion Branch, Jr. (born July 18, 1979 in Albany, Georgia, Height: 5'9"| Weight: 193 lbs.| Years Pro: 10. Branch was picked by the New England Patriots in the second round of 2002 NFL Draft out of the University of Louisville. Branch was named the Most Valuable Player in Super Bowl XXXIX on February 6, 2005.
After tying former San Francisco 49er's wide receiver Jerry Rice and former Cincinnati Bengals tight end Dan Ross for the Super Bowl reception record with 11 catches for 133 yards. He was the first to win the award since 1989. In addition to 11 catches in Super Bowl XXXIX, Branch also caught 10 passes for 143 yards and a touchdown in Super Bowl XXXIII. His 21 receptions in those two games is an NFL record for receptions in consecutive Super Bowls and third most total yardage by a single player in Super Bowl history. Only Jerry Rice and Andre Reed, who each played in 4 Super Bowls recorded more. New England beat the Eagles 24 to 21 to win the 39th Super Bowl.
Currently with the Seattle Seahawks after being traded by the New England Patriots in 2006 will be teaming up with former Cincinnati Bengal standout receiver T J Houshmandzadeh for the upcoming 2010 season.

Branch Is Looking Forward To Upcoming Season
Since having arthroscopic surgery more than 4 months ago in Philadelphia, Branch said " the surgery was a minor clean-out that is common following knee reconstruction. He said the procedure in April was less invasive than a year ago".
Seattle's head coach Pete Carroll said "Deion had a reallly good mini camp the first time out, so we got some real good
information on him". This will be Branch's fourth offense he has played in and the third with Seattle.

Branch a wide receiver for the Cardinals in 2000 and '01, said he was able to keep his composure while being recognized on the field only because he could'nt when he initially was informed of the honor.
"The day (UofL associate athletic director) Gary Friedman called me, I think I let it go then, "Branch said, "About 10 minutes he was just holding on the phone, like "Deion, Deion," and I could'nt breathe."
Despite playing just two seasons after transferring from Jones County (Miss.) Junior College, Branch ranks in the schools top 10 in reception (143), receiving yards (2,204) and receiving touchdowns (18)
Branch, currently with the Seatle Seahawks was named MVP of Super Bowl XXXIX after tying a record with 11 catches in New England's 24-21 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.
