FitBit Fitness Tracker - New FitBit Flex
FitBit make a range of wearable fitness trackers that sync with a computer so you can view data on the FitBit website or an app.
The FitBit Flex wristband is new for 2013 if you prefer a band that can be worn on your wrist all day and night.
The Flex is a small device that pops into a colored wristband - you could have multiple wristbands to suit different outfits.
I have a Fitbit One which clips on to your clothing. I actually wear mine as a pendant and also clipped onto my top as I like the look of it.
It tracks steps and stair climbs. It also works as a watch and stop watch and can monitor your sleep.
And it has a cute flower that grows depending on your activity that day. My four year old checks my flower and comments on my performance!
The OLED display is gorgeous and I find that I only need to charge it once a week.
The FitBit One comes in black or burgundy.

It keeps track of your progress and goals and does a good job of keeping you motivated. And it's fun! I really enjoy the Wii Fit games, especially dance games. You can get the Wii Fit Plus game in a bundle with a Wii Balance Board, or if you already have the balance board you can just buy the on its own. Wii Fit Plus Game
Wii Fit Plus with Balance Board
I used the Wii Fit Balance board to lose weight after the birth of my second child. It was fun and my baby enjoyed watching (just make sure they're far enough away, some of the exercises need quite a bit of space!)
And it still comes out now. It's great fun. My kids always want a go too.
Note that you do need a Wii games console to use this.
The Balance Board is compatible with the new . Nintendo are planning to release Nintendo Wii U ConsoleWii U Fit but I haven't see a release date yet.

The Kinect is the sensor for the Microsoft XBox 360 console and there are a number of popular fitness titles that make use of the sensor.
One of the latest is the Kinect Nike+ title which uses Nike sport science to train you and the Kinect sensor to track how you are doing.
Kinect Nike+ will give you a proper workout rather than just being a fun game.
You can buy the Nike+ game on it's own if you already have an XBox 360 and Kinect sensor.
Or you can choose a bundle which has everything you need.

TrekDesk Treadmill Desk
@ Amazon BUY NOW
Do you spend too long sitting at the computer for work? Many professionals spend their day sitting at their desk and then come home to more hours in the study or on the couch. What if you could be getting exercise for some of those hours? That's the thinking behind the TrekDesk. If you walk at a low speed you can work at your laptop or on the phone while you walk.
The TrekDesk enables you to make better use of your time by keeping moving while you work. You won't be able to run while you're typing but walking is much better than sitting still. The TrekDesk gives you a proper working space where you can have a phone, mouse, reference papers and whatever else you need to do your job.
The TrekDesk works well for people who spend more time at the computer when they get home from a sedentary day at the office and is also a great option for people who work at home. I understand how hard it is to fit exercise into a pressured professional life. The work needs to get done, but not at a cost to your health. The reviews are good for this desk, it's worth considering if you will regularly be working from home or playing games or using social media on your laptop (World of Warcraft on the move anyone?)
I'm now using a treadmill desk for working and I've written more about choosing and using a treadmill desk.
Best Treadmill Desk
I'm writing this while walking on my treadmill desk! I love it. Let's take a look at options for buying a treadmill desk. There are different choices availab...
FitDesk Exercise Bike Desk
The FitDesk is an exercise bike with built-in laptop stand. It's designed so you can get exercise while playing games or surfing the web, or even doing a bit of work. Owners seem to love their FitDesks. It's well designed and the newest version improves over the old one (in particular the seat is more comfortable.)
The FitDesk doesn't take up too much room. Professional jobs often involve many conference calls where you're just talking and looking at a presentation. I wonder if I could get fit enough to be able to use the FitDesk while working from home?
If I didn't already have a treadmill and elliptical then I'd probably give the FitDesk a go. It's quite good value for an exercise bike and a laptop shelf that you know is going to work together well.
SurfShelf Treadmill Desk: Laptop and iPad Holder
This is an interesting and inexpensive option if you already have a treadmill or exercise bike. The designer is an engineer who wanted to be able to watch movies on his laptop while exercising on his treadmill. The SurfShelf is a very strong shelf that fits over your Treadmill, your laptops is secured with a velcro strap. It works on 99% of treadmills, exercise bikes and ellipticals and has a 100% money back guarantee if you are not satisfied.
This gadget gets excellent reviews both for the quality of the gadget and the excellent customer service.
Reviewers report that they can do basic tasks like starting a video at moderate speeds and can do quite a bit if they set their treadmill speed very low.
A lot of people with computer based jobs are using this gadget to get some exercise when they work long hours - it's ideal for viewing a presentation when you are on a conference call, and basic email and reviewing tasks. At low speeds some people are able to do most tasks with their computer.
Note that you'll need to use your computers trackpad or pointing device - there's no mouse pad, that's fine for me, I don't use a mouse anyway. Also on some exercise equipment you won't be able to change speed or include easily when the SurfShelf is in place - most people seem happy with setting up their program in advance.
