Tiger has announced he will return to golf at the Masters and to be honest I don't want him to win. I would prefer a Mickelson victory...although if he's in contention it will be exciting!
I'm sure it will make him feel good again to bring out his driver
i don't care anymore what he does after reading that piece in the New York Daily News. ugh.....
I'm with you he is already a loser! GO PHIL!!
i could honestly care less. however, if your a golf fan, then you better root for woods. espn already proved statistically, with tiger, their ratings are about 50 percent higher than they are without him. therefore, if you want the pga to do well, then you better pray he wins. of course, i think golf is boring, so it doesn't bother me. lol.
Too bad it has to come down to ratings and money....instead of morals and good role models, which he falls into neither of the last two!
yeah, i feel the same way. unfortunately, i have a feeling this will turn out like another kobe bryant story. he'll win a few majors and EVERYONE in the media will forgive him and praise him. sad, but it's true.
agreed...although, I've never been a huge Tiger fan, I like it when he is in contension. I'm a Freddy Couples fan...hopefully he'll fair well in the Masters.
I'll bet he can't wait to grip his club and tee off for a long drive on a fast green then taking his putter out as he prepares for a final poke while the crowd chants "get in the hole!"
When Michael Irvin was arrested in a hotel room with cocaine and strippers a few weeks after the Cowboys won their third Superbowl in 4 years; he was suspended for the first six games of the following season.
When he was asked about the fans turning on him for his inappropriate behavior; he stated something similar to this:
All I need to do is get back on the field and starting catching touchdown passes. Likewise, the fans will love me again.
And he was correct.
People watch Tiger Woods play since they are perhaps witnessing the greatest golfer of all-time and some (if not several) of golf watchers probably could care less about what he does in his personal life.
All they probably care about is him playing golf so they can watch for their entertainment.
The PGA Tour needs to buckle their seat belt. Tiger isn't going to be messing around.
he had been having this affair for, i hear, a long time. before we knew about we cheered him on. why? because he's a world class golfer. if he still does well why "boo" him? hasn't he already buried himself? he lost his family, friends, sponsers, most of his fans. golf is all he has left. why not see what he does next before we "boo" him?
True, true. If you root for Tiger the golfer, keep rooting for Tiger the golfer. He can still play golf as good as he did before we found out about his private life. Why is this such a big surprise? Everybody cheats or wants to. Even the presidents cheat. Cheating is just part of life. Rod Crossfield (wrote More Sex Better Sex) wraps it all up in The Great Instinct. Men chase women and always have and always will. This is the best argument for why we shouldn’t be surprised and why it shouldn’t affect how we think of somebody’s achievements. If you don’t know The Great Instinct look at it at

Jimmy Swaggert "sinned" with a prostitute!
Jimmy was forgiven when he cried onstage and begged the "lord" and his followers for forgiveness.
The "lord" works in wonderous ways his miracles to perform.
Jimmy now has a greater following, paying him more millions than he'd made before he'd "sinned!"
Tiger, follow the example of "Jimmy" and billions more will roll in from, worshipping, forgiving golf fans! hallalujaa brother!!
Somehow I can't see Tiger begging the world for forgiveness, unless of course it is finely scripted. In fairness it must be difficult for him because everything he does in the future will be interpreted as PR stunts.
Money talks in America. Tiger Woods brings the ratings and the money that benefits all golfers.
Golf is not the same without Tiger. Sort of like when Michael Jordan retired the first time from the NBA.
So you better believe the PGA will protect their cash cow.
(shrugs) He's an entertainer...who cares?
Let's say it is for PR stunts. It's not like he's running for a political office anytime soon!
Premier:
I'm sure he'll toughen up as the $ begins to roll in again...eh?
I would love to see Tiger come out strong if he does make his return at the Masters.
I prefer he wins. Regardless of what he's done and yes I know the pathetic story the media has shared with the world.
I still prefer he wins and obtains the goal others have known he is capable of doing. To become the all-time Majors Winner and for him to prove that he is the greatest golfer to ever play the game.
I personally think that should he accomplish that goal, what he has done in his life will be overshadowed by it. And, besides it still requires a few more years of playing to accomplish it.
So, time heals all and things will change.
He knows how to win and he is very competitive, that edge is what will make him successful. Regardless of everything else.
I'm not condoning what he's done, but I think he is strong enough for it to not bother him.
I never understood until this last year why Mickelson was so popular with the fans. I thought Woods was mentally stronger and he is on the course, but off it, with his devotion to his family Phil has been a real inspiration and has shown how strong he can be. Come on Phil!
I will admit, I do not like him as a person so much but he is still a great golfer. He will win again. May not win the Masters this year but he will bounce back.
Tiger Woods may be a cheating dirt bag of a husband, but he's a great golfer and his cheating shouldn't have anything to do with his game.
Screw Tiger, or Eldrick, or whatever he's calling himself for damage control.
Takes a big man to play the sex addict card when pushed into a corner. EVERYBODY's a sex addict; That's why there are 6.5 billion people on the planet!
He's human. The rush to villify him or glorify him speaks more to the weakness and emptiness of the culture than it does of him.
Find me a human that is "without sin" and I'll show you a new religion being born. Find me one person truly worthy of the glory his followers give him, and I'll show you another religion being born.
The rest is crap and gossip and emptiness on levels too numerous to count.
Show me one worth $1 billion with a seemingly endless string of floosies coming out of the woodwork who put on a massive deception about being a 'nice' guy while behaving like a rutting dog and betraying his family and I'll show you Tiger Woods.
Spoken like one who has not walked a mile in the shoes of a man who became a billionaire almost instantly and had the adoration of an entire planet foisted upon him because he was good at golf and had dark skin.
(I'm going to bed, btw, so don't spend too much time on a rebuttal unless you can wait till tomorrow for a reply.)

I felt like this weekend's US Open I was watching a renewed game where there is intrigue and interest without Tiger. One young talented and seemingly nice guy that plays at the highest level is very refreshing. Looking forward to seeing Rory play next.

Is Tiger Woods return to the game of golf that significant?I think so. I will be the first to admit that I am a casual golf fan. It only becomes a must watch when Tiger is in the hunt. My wife who is worst than me only knows one name. It is like when Michael was playing, she see only watched...

I will start off with my favorite one I heard:Whats the differance in a car and a golfball?Tiger can drive a golfball 400 yards...

Even Nicklaus applauded him!!This win tied Woods with Nicklaus — the tournament founder!! http://www.nytimes.com/2012/06/04/sport … -wins.html

Will Tiger Woods ever win another major?
by Kyle Keckeisen 14 years ago
I just realized that with all of Tiger's recent 'transgressions,' how did he focus in his tournaments? If i was him, that would constantly be on my mind! Imagine how good he actually could have been if he was on the straight-and-narrow!
