and will the only title he will ever win in the NBA be the game's "Most Self-Indulgent Player"

i know i said i was leaving, but i have got to comment on this whole thing.  i think no matter what team LeBron chooses to join, i think he'll be labeled borderline selfish by the media and fans.  rightfully so.  as i kind of lost a lot of respect for him during this whole ordeal.  at first, i thought james was just conflicted by the prospect that his cavs may never be good enough to win a title for him and his loyalty to his home town.  i honestly believed james was a conflicted person about it, so i didn't blame him for taking his time.

hell, i even justified and understood why he wanted owners to meet him in cleveland, to discuss contracts because he didn't want the lure of the city to distract from what can they do help him win a title.  i understood that, as i thought he just wanted to win.  however, i was wrong...

he doesn't just want win.  no, that would be too easy.  he wants to win a global icon status, or whatever hell that means.  he even admitted it himself, as he was originally planning on making a documentary about his misadventures with his posse in free agency.  that was until someone was smart enough to tell him it would make him look bad.  like it hasn't already.

if he stays with cleveland, i know many team owners will be royally p***ed because  I know it couldn't have been easy for them to pitch and woo james in his own home town.  Only to end up finding out all the cavs had to do during their presentation was watch a bunch of damn cartoons with him.  which by the way, espn reported that was EXACTLY what the cavaliers did to woo james.  I don't know how you would take that if you were the gm of say the knicks, heat or whatever. However, i'd be p***ed because it would tell me that he was never serious about leaving the cavs in the first place.  Thus, he royally wasted my time and a lot of other people's valuable time.  time i could've been talking to someone that was serious about joining my team, and not someone that was merely using me as a bargaining tool.  i know it's a business. i get that, but i would still be mad.  as all the cavs did was watch freaking cartoons with him during his negotiations with them, but i had to throw and beg him to come to my team.  f*** you lebron!

if he leaves cleveland, then he'll look like an bigger jerk.  as he's constantly teased and tormented the fans there for years with his indecisiveness.  plus, if he leaves cavs, doesn't he consider the fact that having a damn tv special about it...might actually p*** a lot of them off.  i mean seriously.  a lot of people loved and kissed his butt there, and even begged him to stay when they were forced to watch other owners come in and woo him in their own home town.  then instead of doing the right thing and just making a freaking decision like a normal player would, he decides to make a public tv special just for him called the decision.  oh and you can't blame him because he claims its for charity for the boys and girls club.  f*** you james, we both know that's not the real case. your just hiding behind that charity, so you won't look like an a**hole.  which indeed you are.  doesn't he realize how many cleveland folks out there will lose their jobs if he leaves?  after all, their economy is almost dependent on him right now, and if he leaves during this whole charade and circus, then doesn't he consider the fact that having a damn tv special will be a huge slap in the face to all those fans that are about to lose their jobs because of him?  does he even care?  no, he doesn't.  if he did, then he wouldn't make a damn tv special about his decision and hide behind a damn charity.  shut up james and be a man for once.  own up to your decision and just make it.  don't make a documentary or a tv special.  just tell your decision to a bunch of reporters during a normal press conference and be done with it.

stop toying with people.  either way, i think lebron james is a jerk.  i used to be a huge fan of his, and wanted to see him and bosh play for the bulls, as i felt that would've been an awesome team to contend.  however, now im glad he won't be a bull, as i wouldn't want them to have to put up with such a selfish player like him.  no, james is an a**hole.  sure, you can say kobe is too, but at least you can justify his actions by saying he just wants to win at any cost.  where as james, his only justification is to market and promote the team brand...LEBRON JAMES!  it's never been about winning or loyalty, it's about attention to his brand.  that's all he ever wanted, as he admits his dream is not to be a legend like larry bird, michael jordan or magic johnson (to name a few).  no, he wants to be the first global icon.

        exactly..

and you know, there is one real way to be a 'global icon.'..

shut up and LEAD your team to some championships.  If you do that, it won't matter were you play

a free agent basketball player who has taken WAY too long to decide which team he will play and lose for next year.

Indeed, I was referring to his obvious problem with self importantance.  He is the kind of guy that can tell you, off the top of his head,  how many more Twitter followers he has than everyone else in the NBA.

He is very good... but he won't ever be Jordan.....

and I wouldn't be surprised if he never won a title regardless of were he goes

not anymore.  in fact, i hope he becomes injury prone throughout the rest of his career, or he never wins a title now.  he doesn't deserve it after how selfish he's been acting as far as im concerned.

I feel so bad for you, it's terrible when someone you look up to in public does something disappointing.  Heck at this point, I think he should leave because if he stays I don't think the rest of the team will want to play with him. The team won't win anything and I'd rather the team do without him.

I think James should play for the Knicks.  What the hell, one more selfish, self-indulgent, self-promoting, look out for themselves diva to add to the team won't be noticed.

he would be a perfect fit there..

but after a couple of years of not winning, the pressure might be too much for him

Yeah, but he would earn a lot of money in the meantime.

not to mention a lot of scrutiny too.  as i know patrick ewing was vilified there for just missing a game winning lay up in the playoffs once against the pacers. can you imagine if lebron gives up AGAIN like he did last year for the cavs?  yeah, they'll literally tear him apart there anytime he screws up.  he was fortunate to be in cleveland, as they were just happy to have him. if he goes to new york, they're going to vilify his every move if he doesn't win.
