Updated on June 26, 2013

Garmin S2 Details

Can the Garmin Approach S2 really benefit your golf game? Where can I get the best deal on this impressive GPS watch?

You'll find the answers to these questions and more on this page.

The Garmin S2 is simply brilliant with its super sensitive receiver and accurate measuring ability, you will be carving shots off your game in no time.

With preloaded worldwide course maps included and lifetime course updates, you will always have the latest information. The unit is waterproof to 10 meters so wet days or recovering your ball from a water hazard wont affect its performance.

As with all Garmin products its build quality is superb, with a full 12 months manufacturers warranty you're good to go. The S2 is smack bang in the middle of Garmins range with a cheaper S1 at the Bottom and the amazing S3 being the Flagship.

Each model is available in stylish colors that co ordinate well with mens and womens fashion.

OK Now Your Asking Yourself Do I Need an S2

If you play golf reasonably regular chances are you take you sport pretty serious, lates face it when you drop a ball within a couple of feet from the pin, with your approach shot it's a pretty awesome feeling, knock it in for a birdie or at worst a par.

High fives all round, now consider why all the pro players have a caddy because that's the caddys job to estimate the distances for the pro, so between them they work out which club to use for which shot.

So having the same information as the pro minus the caddy, is what your after and that's exactly what the Garmin S2 does, gives you precise measurements to doglegs, layup areas, water hazards and more.

Armed with this information you will be able to determine the right club to use, and therefore reduce poor shots by selecting the right club for the shot, leaving the guesswork out of it.

These watches are very comfortable to wear and don't inhibit your swing at all, with the sensitive receiver they give an accurate measurement even in heavy tree lined fairways.

I've always had the opinion that when your learning a game or musical instrument or anything for that matter, you need the most help you can get and the best gear you can afford.

Which brings me to my point, golf is about being accurate and precise and using the least amount of shots per hole, Period, nothing more nothing less.

The Garmin S2 will help you do that, and in turn you will enjoy your round of golf much more, weather that's in a club comp or a casual round with the guys.

Bottom line, Garmin are on a winner here with a gorgeous looking and fuctional GPS golf watch, that will get you from tee to green in the shortest amount of strokes.

I think what you really need to ask yourself,DO I want to play better golf?

Would I feel good laying up just in front of the water hazard instead of in it?

Would it feel good bragging to my friends about the low scores I'm shooting these days?

If You answered yes to any of the above questions, you know what you have to do,put technology to work and strap an S2 on your wrist.

Garmin S3

Garmin Approach S1, S2 or S3

Ok I've based my thoughts mainly about the Garmin Approach S2 BUT they also have other GPS golf watches in their range. These watches share lots of the functions of the S2 and in the case of the S3 even more features are available.

For my personal golfing ability it was a fact of what I needed as apposed to what I would have liked, lets face it everyone wants the top of the line new gadget, but fortunately the S2 shares many of the best features at a reduced price.

For the average to good golfer I believe the S2 will not disappoint, and there is some money to be saved that could be better spent on maybe gloves or golf balls.

The S3 has just recently been voted best GPS golf watch for 2013, according to HRWC ( heart rate watch company).

There are a couple other features the S3 has including saving course locations for later reference and an ability to be able to move the pin for the days play. Handy features but you will pay a premium price for them. Again I feel the S2 with the features it possess is a fine unit indeed.
