Golf Cart Fun: Personalize It, Decorate It, Accessorize It

Updated on September 15, 2016

Golf Cart Accessories, Decorate a Golf Cart for Holidays and Personalizing Your Golf Cart

Sure, golfers have fun out on the golf course riding around in their carts, but think beyond that. In many retirement communities, golf carts serve as a popular alternative to automobiles. Owners enjoy their scaled-down vehicles and like to personalize them.

Here are some fun things to do with your golf cart by adding accessories and decorative touches. I've also included ways to decorate your golf cart for holidays like the 4th of July, Mardi Gras or Christmas. Some golf cart communities have parades on those holidays so you can show off your "pimped out" golf cart.

Personalizing and Decorating the Golf Cart

In my community, residents take their golf cart to the farmer's market, the gym, to visit neighbors, to dine at the community restaurant, and to attend concerts or festivals. I even see residents taking their dog for a ride in the golf cart.

Solivita knows how to have fun. After the golf cart parade, they have dancing in the street with lots of music and food booths. Everyone has a great time.

Take Good Care of Your Golf Cart with This GOLF CART COVER

Classic Accessories Fairway Golf Cart Easy-On Cover, 4-Person, Tan
Classic Accessories Fairway Golf Cart Easy-On Cover, 4-Person, Tan

If you don't have a golf cart garage, protect your cart with this cover. It slips easily over the roof.

Choosing a Golf Cart

When first choosing a golf cart, think through how the cart will be used. If you have lots of visitors, it's likely that you'll want a rear seat so the cart can carry four people. Such a cart can still be fitted out for golf if you wish by adding a center post to attach the golf clubs to the back.

If the cart is mainly for golf, then in rainy areas like Florida opt for a pull-down cover for the club area. If there is frequent rain or some cold weather, then the cart will need a full enclosure that can be rolled into place for those chill days. Adding accessories like a heater or a fan can make it more comfortable as well.

I never thought about decorating ours when we had it. We needed it to get around the property, and the dogs loved the ride. It came in handy for parties with guest having to park so far from the house.

I've been seeing a lot of cheerful little street legal golf carts around town lately. Given a 4 minute commute to my office, and some bad behavior on my own car's part lately, I have to say this lens gives me notions...

I don't have a golf cart but I love the decorations and custom body work. We can drive ATVs on our street so I'm thinking about getting one of those. I can use it to plow my driveway or tour the neighborhood. I'd love to see some fancy custom paint jobs so I could add golf carts to my art car lens.
