Like almost every Indian out there, I was glued to my television set too on 2nd April 2011 watching India vs Srilanka World Cup 2011 finals. India didn't start batting on a positive note, and I was disheartened thinking that we just might lose our chance at winning the World Cup 2011. But destiny sure had other plans. And the result is for all of you to see! India has won the World Cup 2011 beating Sri Lanka by 6 wickets!

What a match it was, with a nail-biting finish. MS Dhoni hit a six to end it all off in style. Like every Indian out there, I am absolutely thrilled that India has won the World Cup 2011. Sachin Tendulkar deserved to see a WC win before he retired and this was a great gift for him. Indian guys however were expecting another treat from a WC victory. A top model - Poonam Pandey - had proposed that she would strip if India claimed the World Cup 2011. Well, the World Cup victory happened but apparently Miss Poonam Pandey has switched off her cell phone because she was getting too many calls from fans and enemies alike. She was willing to do it provided Indian politicians allow it. In a conservative country like India, there is hardly any hope of that happening without a ruckus.
