Virender Sehwag turns on the heat in IPL 5
As IPL 2012 went past its halfway stage in the previous week, the focus was clearly on the form of Delhi Daredevils. Delhi Daredevils have displayed consistency with both bat and ball.
Among the batsmen, Virender Sehwag, who is one of the leading run scorers across the five seasons, has hit a rich vein of form, scoring four consecutive half-centuries.
Sehwag, who became only the fourth player to score four consecutive half-centuries in Twenty20 matches, cracked 87 against Pune Warriors to enable Daredevils to win the return fixture after Warriors had won the first game by 20 runs.
In a comfortable eight-wicket win, Sehwag scored his runs off just 48 balls (strike rate 181.25) while the other batsmen scored at a strike rate of only 116.07. Cameron White, who recently lost his place as Australia's Twenty20 captain, set up Deccan Chargers' first win with 78 off 46 balls (strike rate 169.56) in a game where the other batsmen scored at a strike rate of 122.68.
Michael Clarke makes debut in IPL 5
Australia captain Michael Clarke made his debut in the Twenty20 tournament
Clarke, who had ignored the four previous editions of the cash-rich tournament, signed up with the Pune Warriors this year for an undisclosed amount to play after Australia's recent tour of the West Indies.
Clarke has six more league games to help Pune, under former India captain Sourav Ganguly, finish among the top four in the nine-team competition and qualify for the play-offs
Sachin Tendulkar nominated to Rajya Sabha - 'Man of the century' Tendulkar becomes first active sportsman MP

A Bharat Ratna might still be a little distant, but cricket icon Sachin Tendulkarwill soon is an MP.
Sachin's nomination to the Rajya Sabha took political circles by surprise, even though it was in the works for a while.
President Pratibha Patil has validated his admission to the Rajya Sabha and Tendulkar becomes the first active sportsman in parliament.

Delhi and Mumbai lock horns tonight at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in Delhi in Match 36 of the IPL 5. Delhi captain Virender Sehwag, in a lighter vein, tweeted: "My first ipl game against a rajya sabha member ;) Hope the weather holds n we get a full game today."
Batting great Sachin Tendulkar turned 39 on 24th April 2012 with an impassioned plea from his childhood coach to carry on playing cricket for India since he is ‘far from finished’.
May this Rajya Sabha member is the birthday gift for Legendary Indian cricketer
I am in prime form: Virender Sehwag
As he led Delhi Daredevils to a dominating win against Mumbai Indians with a blistering 73, Virender Sehwag on Friday said he is in prime form and it is team's strategy that either he or Mahela Jayawardene stays at the crease at least till the 15th over.
"I have scored about 150 runs in the last three games, so yes, I am in prime form," Sehwag, who was also man-of-the- match, said.
Sehwag is only the third player in the history of IPL to score three consecutive half-centuries. Sachin Tendulkar and Jacques Kallis are the other two.
On Friday, Sehwag and Jayawardene rattled up 135 runs for the first wicket in 13.1 overs to lay the foundation for the comprehensive win.
"We discussed in the team meetings that one of me and Mahela has to stay until the 15th over, today both of us did and we had a very good partnership," Sehwag said.
Sehwag also said he has asked his players to just focus "on process and not the result" and that's key to their success as they sit on top of the table.
Mumbai skipper Harbhajan Singh said Delhi outplayed them. "We didn't get the result we were looking for. Delhi played fantastic, they batted too well. Credit goes to Delhi, they outplayed us," he said.
Harbhajan also said there was a risk in asking Delhi to bat but he took the gamble.
"They like to chase, with their batting line-up, they can chase down any total. We did not bowl good enough to restrict them to under 170," he said.
Asked since he has seen so much Sehwag, what else he could have done to stop Sehwag, Harbhajan said, "You can only wish that he misses the ball and gets out."
Yuvraj Singh meets Pune Warriors team-mates in IPL 5 match
It was good to see India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh practices some shots at the Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium on Thursday.
Yuvraj Singh, captain of Team Pune before cancer hit him, walked into the ground to get a feel of stadium atmosphere and support his team members. There was genuine warmth on display. Yuvraj, who captained Pune Warriors last season, thanked the fans, friends and well-wishers for supporting him in his hour of crisis
Captain Sourav Ganguly hugged him and put his hand over Yuvraj's bald head with affection. He was clearly happy to see him coming out a winner from life's big battle. Robin Uthappa and other teammates embraced him. Pune captain Ganguly said: “It's good to see him, he's in the dug out.”
Yuvraj, who returned to the country earlier this month after treatment in the United States for more than two months, was seen waving to the crowd at the Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium and talking to his teammates.
He hinted that he is eager to return to action in two-three months but added there's no time-frame for his recovery.
Pune skipper Ganguly, meanwhile, was happy that Yuvraj came here to boost the morale of the team.
If you get Dravid, great. If you get Sachin, brilliant. If you get Laxman, it's a miracle." by lee
IPL 2012 - Opening ceremony
Actors Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra and Salman Khan performed during the opening ceremony of the 5th edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) in Chennai on Tuesday, April 3, 2012.

This season could be make or break for IPL, which has had its share of controversies in the last 12 months. In 2011, the television ratings fell, Kochi Tuskers were expelled after their owners failed to pay the bank guarantee and then Sahara, the owners of Pune Warriors and chief sponsor of the Indian cricket team, threatened to severe its ties with the Indian cricket board in February.
IPL's newly appointed chairman Rajeev Shukla, who took over last year, attributed the dip in last year's TV ratings to "cricket fatigue".
The Great Game Called "Cricket"
Older players have become a fortune of the Indian Premier League.
Sourav Ganguly, nearing his 39th birthday and three years retired from the international game, has been tapped to rescue the Pune Warriors' indisposed season.
While he isn't likely to make much of an impact with his bat, his name alone will bring fans to stadiums. Ganguly hardly looks like the ideal solution and chances of him rescuing the team's season with feats of derring-do at the crease look slim
Sachin Tendulkar, 38 he provides the team with a distinctive identity and team branding
Warne, 41 years old and four years out of the international game, is the oldest player in the league. The old magician still has 'magic' left in him. He was caption and coach for the first four IPL seasons. Warne molded the team in his own image He's also bowling like a dream, though he recently announced his plan to retire at the end of the season.
Adam Gilchrist (39), who lead Kings XI Punjab, earlier he lead the Deccan Chargers inspired comeback with Adam Gilchrist as caption and won 2009 the second IPL season
Andrew Symonds (35), playing for Mumbai Indian, one of the important player in the team. Earlier Symonds was Deccan Chargers a key player of those seasons.
Mahela Jayawardene nearing his 34th birthday was the caption of debut team of IPL 4 Kochi Tuskers Kerala. Formerly he played for Kings XI Punjab and he was the 6th highest run scorer for the tournament and highest in his team.
Michael Hussey nearing his (36) is playing for Chennai Super Kings Hussey chose to play for his Indian Premier League team Chennai Super Kings instead of his Australian state side Western Warriors in the inaugural Champions Twenty20 League. He reverses the fortunes of the side to win the title that year.
Jacques Kallis (35) opener in Kolkata Knight Rider. He was leading run getter in previous IPL season and proud to hold the Orange cap. This season also he was in form to conquer the orange cap.
Rahul Dravid, 39 , now playing for Rajasthan Royals. He was the caption of Royal Bangalore Challengers in first season of IPL. Dravid was called back to the Indian ODI team following his good show at that year IPL 2009.
V.V.S. Laxman at 36 playing for 4 Kochi Tuskers Kerala. .He was the captain of the Deccan Chargers team in the Indian Premier League in its first year before being replaced by Adam Gilchrist for the next year.
Text with BIG Picture
A tall off spinner who bowls with a high-arm action
Ashwin used to be up and ready before we could do anything for him.
Near-perfect performance in the 2010 Champions League where his Man-of-the-Series performance helped Chennai lifts the big prize.
Ashwin's growing confidence and widening repertoire of tricks will keep him in the frame for a consistent run for India in the shorter formats.
Ashwin is taking his first steps in Ranji Trophy cricket. He was impressive the following the season with both bat and ball before a wrist injury unfortunately forced him out for four weeks in the middle of the season. Under his captaincy Tamil Nadu were crowned Indian domestic one-day champions in 2009
“Ravichandran Ashwin is a precious asset of Indian cricket” in the words of Stephen Fleming, coach for Chennai Super Kings described.
The bowling attack of CSK has been quite impressive and the bowling enabled the fielders exert more pressure on the batsmen of the rival team.
Ravichandran Ashwin have ensured that CSK could be depended upon him.
Ravichandran Ashwin will get an opportunity in the forthcoming matches against South Africa and West Indies.
Ambati Rayudu, Rising star of India - Batsman plus handy wicketkeeper
The 25-year-old batsman Ambati Rayudu, the prolific run-getter of Hyderabad in Ranji Trophy and South Zone in Duleep Trophy has been cherishing his dream to represent India someday.
He is one of the highly talented players of this team who hails from Guntur, Andhra Pradesh and that is the gifted young cricketer Ambati Rayudu.
Early as in 2005, the then coach of the Indian team Greg Chappell the Australian, in his notes, recorded that Ambati Rayudu is an immensely gifted cricketer and wicketkeeper.
His performance in IPL 4 won many matches. He was pushed as a big name to be watched for IPL seasons through.
Sachin Tendulkar praised for young Ambati Rayudu “"It was a brilliant innings from the young man Rayudu. It was a special stuff," the maestro lavished praise on his young teammate.
He is cherishing every moment by partnership with Sachin Tendulkar to develop a special bond with the legend.
Rayudu speak about his 'mentor' Tendulkar "To keep it simple and just stick to the basics. That's one thing I have learnt from him. Just to watch the ball and play on its merit,"
Rayudu’s style of batting has been widely admired. His batting comes across as spicy. He is an entertainer!
Ambati Rayudu has been a revelation for the Mumbai Indians in his pivotal No 3 position.
Rayudu admitted that he is determined to continue to do well as a batsman, improving with each outing at the crease.
Ambati Rayudu, once a bright rising star, was lost to Indian cricket for reasons most intriguing.
Unfortunately Rayudu, he could not get a berth in the national team so far… There was hope.
Team Chennai coach Stephen Fleming stands by uncertain over MS Dhoni
Chennai Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming feels that skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is "not under any kind of pressure" despite his woeful batting form and the scratchy performance of the defending champions in their three IPL matches so far.
Chennai Super Kings coach Stephen Fleming has said he believes the pressure of expectation, which comes from winning two successive IPL titles, contributed to his team's defeats against Delhi Daredevils and Mumbai Indians.

UP’s and Down of Pune Warriors - Sourav Ganguly is now the greatest comeback kid in the history of cricket
Ganguly will add value to Pune Warriors
Ganguly will be vice-captain at Pune Warriors, one of two new IPL franchises this year. Pune Warriors, who are led by Yuvraj Singh
The reason that the Warriors find themselves in their current position is because they haven't performed as a unit after the first two matches; if the batsmen fire, the bowlers have had a bad day and vice-versa. Sloppy fielding and dropped catches at crucial intervals have also added to the Warriors' woes as has been the failure of Jesse Ryder,Robin Uthappa and Manish Pandey to play any knocks of substance and support their skipper Yuvraj Singh. Ryder has not been among the runs in the last couple of games; Uthappa has not converted his quick 30s into 60+ scores and Pandey has found the going tough. Their bowling unit too with the exception of Alfonso Thomas and Rahul Sharma has failed to impress with the experienced Murali Kartik being the biggest disappointment.
The return of Sourav Ganguly to IPL brings more flavors to the ongoing IPL...
The May 19 clash between Pune Warriors and KKR will assume greater significance as Ganguly is a certainty for that particular match.

Gayle in the Royal Challengers Bangalore Squad - Gayle in 2011
Gayle as a replacement for injured Australian left-arm pacer Dirk Nannes
The WICB on Wednesday confirmed that it had granted No Objection Certificate to Gayle to play for Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL after "he had officially notified the board of his decision not to make himself available for selection for the Pakistan leg of the Digicel Series."
The WICB does not accept Gayle's reason for making himself unavailable but as he has already clearly made his choice and has travelled to India, the WICB does not wish to stand in his way.
Chris Gayle, the West Indies opener, has joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore squad for the 2011 season as a replacement for injured Dirk Nannes, Vijay Mallya, the owner of the franchise has confirmed.
Gayle will also be useful at the top of the batting order as Tilakratne Dilshan may have to leave the squad in the first week of May due to international commitments as the newly appointed Sri Lankan captain

Chennai back in IPL final with a bang
Chennai Super Kings beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by six wickets in the 1st qualifier at Wankhede stadium and enter the IPL final for the second successive year and third final in four IPL tournaments,
Raina and Morkel changed the script with an undefeated 46-run stand off 18 balls.
The turning point of the match came in the 19th over when Morkel clobbered Sreenath Aravind for two successive sixes and Raina hit the third over mid-wicket.
Morkel signalled CSK’s stunning win by hitting left-arm spinner Daniel Vettori over mid-wicket for a six. Badrinath enhanced his reputation as a run-machine
Earlier Virat Kohli resurrected RCB with a 44-ball 70 (5x4, 3x6) with Pomersbach stepped in to strike lusty blows, displaying his value as a hard-hitter (29, 18b, 2x4, 2x6) to take them to a formidable 175 for 4 in 20 overs.
But Gayle’s fastish off-spin and the guile of skipper Vettori put the brakes on Raina’s aggressive batting ploy to leave CSK gasping for breath.
It took a heroic effort from Chennai’s batsmen to overcome the odds and beat the in-form Royal Challengers Bangalore
Chennai Super Kings will be resting and preparing with only one match on their mind. Now that’s a nice position to be in.
IPL 4 New Format
Each team will play 14 matches. It means each team will play 5 teams twice say, 7 matches at home and 7 matches away and 4 teams only once as hosting 2 matches and 2 matches away. In Semifinal, the 1st and 2nd placed teams will play only one match say 'A', while 3rd and 4th seeded teams will play another say 'B'. The winner of 'A' will go to final, and the loser of 'A' will play the winner of 'B' for the final match
Overseas players performance in the IPL 2011 - Chris Gayle (Royal Challengers Bangalore)
The former West Indies captain was surprisingly not taken by any franchisees during the auction in January 2011. He came to IPL 2011 on replacement for New Zealand Dirk Nannes.
RCB have not lost a match since his arrival, the Caribbean took his second chance and delivered
He was the highest run getter with the average of 99 and strike rate more than 199.
Gayle, base price of US $400,000, was bought for US $650,000 (as that was Nannes's purchase price).
Overseas players performance in the IPL 2011 - Michael Hussey (Chennai Super Kings)
Mr. Cricket though has proved that he is an invaluable addition to his team.
An aggregate of 388 runs (@ 55.42) in nine matches means he is second in the race for the Orange Cap and his side very much in contention to defend their title.
One of the best batsmen ever to have graced the game, Michael Hussey fetched a surprisingly low price of US $425,000 -- against a base price of US $200,000 -- in the auction.
The Australian has so far registered three fifties and two 40-plus totals and been named the man-of-the-match in three of the nine matches he has played in.
Sachin Tendulkar (C)
SK Sarul Kanwar
Overseas players performance in the IPL 2011 - Shaun Marsh (Kings XI Punjab)
The Orange Cap winner in the inaugural edition, Shaun Marsh paid the price for poor form in subsequent editions.
Nonetheless, his original team, Kings XI Punjab, retained him at his base price (US $400,000) and the Australian has expressed his gratitude with a slew of good efforts with the blade.
An aggregate of 324 runs in nine innings, with three half-centuries, marks a return to form for the 27-year-old.
Greg Shipperd (Australia)
Overseas players performance in the IPL 2011 - Daniel Vettori (Royal Challengers Bangalore)
The former New Zealand skipper , who shows his performance in with both ball and bat, went for only US $550, 000 -- against a base price of US $400,000 -- in the auction.
Named captain of RCB, Daniel Vettori has thus far led his team admirably and kept them in contention for a last four berth.
He also happens to be their most economical bowler, capturing seven wickets (@ 5.58).
Overseas players performance in the IPL 2011 - James Hopes (Delhi Daredevils)
James Hopes, purchased for US $350,000 only, is the most impressive of the lot.
The 32-year-old has so far aggregated 181 runs in six innings, inclusive of two fifties, and also claimed seven wickets.
Suffice to say, if there is a second player, besides skipper Virender Sehwag, who has impressed for Delhi this season, it is the Australian.
He has been selected as captain of the Daredevils - with Sehwag ruled out with an injury - for the remainder of the tournament.

Overseas players performance in the IPL 2011 - Alfonso Thomas (Pune Warriors India)
The find of the tournament, as far as the Pune Warriors is concerned.
An unknown entity coming into the tournament, Alfonso Thomas was purchased for just US $100,000 -- as opposed to a base price of US $50,000.
The South African has been impressive with the ball for Pune thus far, picking 10 wickets in nine matches.
In what has otherwise been a disappointing inaugural campaign, if there is a player on whom captain Yuvraj Singh can bank upon, it is Thomas.
Chennai Super Kings
Overseas players performance in the IPL 2011 - Ryan Harris (Kings XI Punjab)
Again a bright spot in an otherwise dull campaign.
Ryan Harris followed compatriot Adam Gilchrist from Deccan Chargers to Kings XI Punjab and settled down quickly.
The 31-year-old, bought for US $325,000 -- against a base price of US $200,00, has repaid in the same coin, picking nine wickets thus far.
Suffice to say he has been the best bowler for the Punjab side, picking up 10 wickets thus far.
In the final analysis, names like Brendon McCullum (Kochi Tuskers Kerala for US $475,000, Morne Morkel (Delhi Daredevils for US $475,000), Brad Hodge (Kochi Tuskers Kerala for US $425,000) and Eoin Morgan (Kolkata Knight Riders for US $350,000) could have also made it to this list had they been a tad more consistent.
However, their only had sporadic success.

Chris Gayle, one of the top hitters in the tournament.
Gayle has exploded with a spectacular outburst of attacking batsmanship to become one of the top hitters in the tournament.
Royal Challengers Bangalore jumps to the second spot in the points table with sixth consecutive win.
Gayle opened in this IPL 2011 with a century. The left-handed former West Indian captain Gayle has slammed two centuries.
Gayle then took his team in his shoulder. He has brought new life into the Royal Challengers Bangalore. He single-handedly has transformed his team’s fortunes. Since Gayle’s arrival, Bangalore has won all their six matches. A lot of the credit has to go to him as he has provided them with four brilliant knocks
He wasn’t picked by any franchise in the auction and also left out by the West Indies selectors just for the ODI series against Pakistan, whose extravagant hitting and mean spin bowling are made for the quick-fire Twenty20 format of cricket, was one of the bigger shocks of the lance-style player auction for the 2011 Indian Premier League tournament. It looks like he took this up as a challenge

Sehwag has played his last game this IPL
Delhi Daredevils skipper Virender Sehwag has decided to undergo surgery on his injured shoulder.
He will be leaving for London immediately for the surgery
The team is virtually out of the race for a spot in the play-offs.
Swashbuckling opener Virender Sehwag had a word with BCCI and it was decided that he needs to undergo surgery as soon as possible
The injury puts Sehwag's participation in the West Indies tour in doubt and also possibly casts a shadow on his availability for the England tour in July.
Australia all-rounder James Hopes will lead Delhi in their remaining IPL games

Ganguly steals the show
In a match that generated interest as well as anticipation for the former India skipper's Ganguly return to the highly popular tournament, who stole the limelight with a fluent unbeaten knock which contained three boundaries and a six remained unbeaten on 32
Even as all eyes were on Ganguly, Pandey managed to play an innings which was as important as the one played by Ryder.
Sourav Ganguly silenced his critics
Perfect combo of age and youth
The leading run scorers are the timeless Sachin Tendulkar and newcomer Paul Valthaty.
The leading wicket-takers are style icon Malinga and old fox Shane Warne.
The contrasts continue as Kumar Sangakkara and Robin Uthappa effected the most dismissals as wicketkeepers.
There was talk of spinners being taken to the cleaners earlier on, but that has also been not the case.
Young or old, pace or not, technique or on-the-spot improvisation, everything is welcome at the IPL!

No berth for Pakistani cricketers
Pakistan players are omitted from the auction list for the fourth edition of the Indian Premier League
For successively second year, Pakistani cricketers have been sidelined for Fourth edition of rich Twenty20 league. IPL officials have shown little interest in Pakistani players.
Pakistan' cricket stars were not included in the auction of 416 players for next year's edition of the IPL. Though Pakistani cricketers took part in the first season IPL in 2008, in the wake of the Mumbai terror attacks they were forced out in 2009 due to security concerns and were ignored for this season also.
IPL committee has declared that PCB did not inform them whether any of their players were interested in the featuring in the league. The board said, "The rules stipulate that a player must apply through his home board if he wanted to be put up for the auction. No names were received from Pakistan." . Some members in PCB claimed that IPL never kept them informed that banned is lifted. A lack of communication between the PCB and IPL has deprived Pakistan's players of an excellent platform to exhibit their skills
Pakistan has entered in two finals of the three ICC World Twenty20 championships held so far.
Some of the Pakistani players said that "the IPL will certainly miss exciting players"

Retention Players by their franchises
List of Players retained by the Franchises
Rahul Dravid, Sourav Ganguly, Yuvraj Singh, Gautam Gambhir, with Brendon McCullum, Chris Gayle, Andrew Symonds and Virat Kohli.
Kolkata Knight Riders, Deccan Chargers and Kings XI Punjab have decided not to retain any of their players.
Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, the 2010 finalists, have retained the maximum of four players each.
Mumbai, as expected, held on to Sachin Tendulkar, the highest run-scorer of the 2010 season, offspinner Harbhajan Singh, West Indies allrounder Kieron Pollard and Sri Lanka seamer Lasith Malinga.
Chennai took the Indian trio of MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina and M Vijay> out of the auction, in addition to South African allrounder Albie Morkel, their regular opening bowler.
Delhi Daredevils retained only Virender Sehwag.
Royal Challengers Bangalore retained onlyVirat Kohli.
Kings punjab retained their team caption Share Warne and all-rounder Shane Waston
Factor to retain the players
The key factors to retained and released the players seem to be form, brand appeal and age. There is no common thread running through the choices of players retained between the franchises.
Age is not a universal disqualification. It didn't count in Tendulkar's case, nor in that of Shane Warne, Rajasthan's coach and captain, who was retained by Rajasthan Royals, along with Shane Watson, a day ahead of the deadline. One franchise official explained the difference: "Warne is a global brand so that only helps to promote the franchise."
If Rajasthan opted for Warne because they have always viewed the IPL as a global brand, Mumbai went with Tendulkar and Harbhajan for their popularity. Pollard and Malinga may have made the cut on account of being impact players, who have backed up their strong Twenty20 credentials with consistent performance.
Sehwag's match-winning abilities, coupled with his rapid emergence as a brand, clearly had a say in Delhi's decision to retain him. MS Dhoni and Suresh Raina must have been shoo-ins for Chennai following their compelling IPL and international form. Vijay's performances, coupled with his potential to attract a strong local fan-base, must have tilted the scales in his favour, while Morkel's proven all-round skills were always going to be an asset. If there is a stranger in this crowd, it could be Kohli. His recent performance, Kohli is still work in progress. But he is young, ambitious and has the youth appeal.

New play-off format, SF format changes
IPL Season IV
In 2010 season there are 10 – team competition, in season 2011, the competition which is scheduled to take place immediately after the ICC World Cup in April – May next year, but with two teams scrapped, it would now be an eight – team affair.
The BCCI is keen on having eight teams in IPL 4. The number of teams would automatically impact the number of matches and the television revenue to be earned by the IPL, a percentage of which is distributed among the franchises, forming a bulk of their annual revenues.
The date of the next player auction is yet to be decided, and unless the teams are decided the players cannot be picked. The auction was first expected to take place first in August and later in November, but it now appears likely to be postponed again IPL Governing Council disclosed that the fourth edition of the league will have eight teams and the auction of players will take place in Mumbai on 8th and 9th January of next year.
Initially, the BCCI had drawn up a new IPL schedule involving ten teams and 74 matches with play – offs but in just over a month, terminated the Rajasthan Royals and King’s I Punjab franchises. The league governing council has announced it will be eight teams playing 60 matches in this tournament. The tournament will start on April 8 to May 22.
Each of eight sides will be playing 14 games. There has been a slight change in the semi final format with the top two teams clashing in the first semis and the third and fourth placed team will take on each other in the second semi finals.
According to the new format, based on the league standings there will be two play-offs
Play off 1: Team 1 vs. Team 2
Play off 2: Team 3 vs. Team 4
The winner of play-off 1 will automatically qualify for the grand final.
However, the losers of play-off 1 will get a second chance as they will take on the victorious team of play-off 2 in a prelim final, winner of which will progress to the grand final.
