The Kochi franchise of the Indian Premier League (IPL) have approached the IPL governing council to rope in former India captain Sourav Ganguly former India captain (who was earlier snubbed by all the ten franchisees) for IPL 4 . Team Kochi will be making their IPL debut in this mega even which begins on April 8.

IPL Governing Council has shown their surprise by Kochi's late intent but it won't be that easy for them to go ahead and purchase Sourav Ganguly. They likely to approve Kochi request. They can do so only if the other nine franchises raise no objection to this out-of-auction deal. The only catch though is that the rest of the nine franchises have to agree to Kochi signing Ganguly on as the IPL rules clearly state that the capped players put up for auction can only be bought through an open bidding process (NOC).

Brendon McCullum, Brad Hodge and Owais Shah are players who played earlier in KKR are now in Kochi Team.

Kochi Franchisee wants Sourav Ganguly as part of their IPL 4, but needs to get NOC from BCCI & 9 other Franchisees
