Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather: What's the real deal?

Updated on April 24, 2011

Why Not Fight Him??

Does Mayweather really want to fight with Manny "pacman" Pacquiao? Floyd Mayweather won't stop running his mouth against Manny Pacquiao.

During his interviews, there were lots of reporters asked the same question " Why not fight with Manny Paqcuiao?" and also speaks one the same answer. "I'm an American citizen, and I represent the red, white and blue. And the only thing I want is for the people in America to stand behind me." mmmhhh.... is it so ?

As usual, Mayweather didn't give a straight answer. The people on the show wanted a simple answer, which he couldn't give.

America was known as the HOME OF THE BRAVE and Floyd Mayweather Jr. is acting very un-American right now, that is why more American fight fans are rooting for Manny Pacquiao because they respect his bravery inside the ring.

Michael Koncz, Manny Pacquiao’s Canadian adviser, revealed that $50 million was offered during their most recent negotiations with Mayweather’s camp. He still refuses to enter the ring with Pacman.

The $50-million offer is the highest in Mayweather’s 15-year professional career. Wow! It just means that he really don't wanna fight Manny at this point in his career, very simple.

Another reason is that Mayweather Jr. wants Pacquiao to take an Olympic drug test before they fight. He wants Pacquiao to go beyond what all boxers have to do just to fight him. I think Pacquiao was ready to take the blood test.

This was what Pacquiao said during an interview,"I am willing to help the sport for the future of the sport. I do not want to see anyone cheat or cheat this sport. For that reason I am willing to consider taking blood tests as close as 14 days prior to the fight, as long as my opponent does the same, and it is not a lot of blood, just enough to test,"

Mayweather is obviously jealous because Pacquiao is now the face of boxing and the No. 1 pound-for-pound king, accusing Pacquiao for taking enhancing drugs is not the main reason. All these smears because of cowardness, jealousy and their stereotypical racist beliefs that Asians cannot punch strong and fight like an unstoppable machine like Pacquaio.

Hardcore boxing fans are not to happy about Manny Pacquiao’s next match up fight with Sugar Shane Mosley this coming May 7, 2011. Mosley has struggled in his last two fights, a one-sided loss to Floyd Mayweather last May and a draw against Sergio Mora in September

The fight will be promoted by Top Rank and be at the welterweight limit of 147 pounds. So, Who's your bet?

This will be the most anticipated fight in boxing and do much to restore boxing as a premier sport. This bout is seriously overdo.

For Pac fans the following issues are notable:

Pacquiao defensive skills AFTER he throws punches/combos

Dealing with Pac's tendency to lean in unbalanced at times.

His ability to land on Mayweather while retreating and going backwards.

Mayweather will capitalize on those issues and it would be interesting to see any changes in Pac's game plan to address them.

For Mayweather he has to be seriously concerned with Pacman's work rate as judges will undoubtedly score points for the aggressive nature/ring generalship. Floyd will also have to stay off the ropes and utilize his speed and masterful defense to deal with Pacman's onslaught. He needs to be offensively busy as well.

Hopefully this fight will develop and get past the Olympic drug test controversy.

Boxing should be more popular. MMA used to be interesting but then they tried to turn it into boxing with rounds and scores and massive train-ups. MMA should be fought as it was in the beginning.

Boxing takes a lot of skill. You can't just run up to a guy and take him down and sit on the mat for 10 minutes in a stalemate. Boxing forces you to attack and do it accurately. I watch boxing far more than MMA now.

I'm not a big fan of Mayweather. He's egotistic and arrogant. People like that give American sports a bad name. We shouldn't be full of ourselves and acting like celebrities. If you're good then let your actions and your game show it. Not your talk.

Mayweather needs to man up and fight Manny. You can't act like you're the greatest when you won't fight a top contender. That makes you a coward

How nice to have a boxing controversy from the old days. I hate the brutal MMA.
