Kamala Speaks - An Autobiography of "The Ugandan Giant"

Kamala Speaks

Any fan of classic pro wrestling knows Kamala. He was a beast! Kamala, known as "The Ugandan Giant", was a WWE pro-wrestler who fought against the likes of Hulk Hogan, The Ultimate Warrior, Andre The Giant, and (my favorite) Jake "The Snake" Roberts.

You might not know too much about Kamala - like what is voice sounds like - because throughout his career, Kamala remained silent, aside from some frightening grunting. This trait helped scare children by making his personal more realistic, but it was a conscious decision to disguise the fact that this "Ugandan Giant" was born James Harris and grew up in a segregated Mississippi town in a sharecropper’s family.

Kamala's strength comes not from his body, but in his ability to endure. He faced racism, violence, and recently the loss of both legs to diabetes.

Kamala Speaks - An Autobiography

Kamala is silent no more. Through this book, James Harris has come out of his silence to tell his story and share his experiences in life and in the WWE.

This book is a cautionary tale of a survivalist who once headlined 20,000-seat arenas, who is now in a wheelchair at age 65, wondering how he can pay the bills, however it is a book filled with funny, interesting, and uplifting stories.

The proceeds of this book will help offset medical expenses and allow Harris to once again provide for his family.
