Memo Rojas Jr. The Life of a Champion

Memo Rojas Jr. a Mexican sports car racing champion. This page is dedicated to him and his successful career as a professional race car driver.

Memo Rojas Jr. is currently racing for the Chip Ganassi Racing team in the Rolex Sports Cars Series and he has won the championship for 4 times.

Among his achievements is being a three-time winner of the 24 Hours of Daytona, the last one was on January 27, 2013.

I met Memo since he was a little kid, due to our friendship with his parents. My family and I have followed his career since his first steps on the race tracks.

Memo Rojas Jr. inherited his passion for racing from his father Guillermo Rojas Sr. who also had a successful career as a race car pilot.

Memo Rojas Sr. won multiple sports racing championships in Mexico and he also participated in Daytona in the US and Le Mans in France.

Guillermo "Memo" Rojas Jr.

The early years

Memo Rojas Jr. was born in Mexico City in 1981.

He started his racing career in 1993 when he was only 13 years old. In 1994 he won the National Kart Championship.

Later he became a professional race car driver in Mexico when he started in Formula 2 and then Formula 3 where he competed for 2 years.

Racing in the US:

In 1997 Memo raced in the Barber Dodge Series. After returning to Mexico he moved back to the Unites States and raced in the American Formula Ford 2000 series and in 2002 he started racing in the Barber Dodge Pro.

Racing in Europe:

In 2004 he moved to Europe were he raced for 1 year racing in Formula Renault V6 Eurocup series.

Memo Rojas Jr. in Tudor United Sports car Championship

Rolex Sports Car Racing - Daytona

Memo Rojas's career was moving up, he had gained lots of experience racing in Mexico, the US and Europe.

In 2007 he joined the Chip Ganassi Racing and started racing Grand-Am Road Racing in the Rolex Sports Car Series with Scott Pruett as his teammate. He finished 4th in Daytona Prototypes points.

In 2008, he won Daytona Prototypes Championship with Scott Pruett as co-driver. He won the Rolex 24 at Daytona with his teammates: Scott Pruett, Dario Franchitti and Juan Pablo Montoya.

2010 was another wonderful year for Memo Rojas and Scott Pruett as teammates. They won their second Daytona Prototypes championship.

2011 Memo Rojas and Scott Pruett, Graham Rahal and Joey Hand as teammates won the Rolex 24 At Daytona. He also won his third Daytona Prototypes Championship racing for the Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates with co-driver Scott Pruett.

2012 Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas Jr won their 4th Daytona Prototype Championship.

2013 had a great start, racing for the Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates, his team: Juan Pablo Montoya, Scott Pruett and Charlie Kimball won the Rolex 24 At Daytona on January 27.

Memo Rojas Jr. in Disney Pixar Cars 2

Latin America Version

Memo Rojas Jr. voices his character in the Latin American version of Disney Pixar Cars 2. He replaces Jeff Gorvette from the American version.

His car has the green, white and red colors with the "Hecho en Mexico" emblem on it.

Just as Memo Rojas in Cars 2 Latin America, other local racers replace Jeff Gorvette in the versions made exclusively for other countries. You can watch them in the video below.

 As you can see Memo Rojas is a real Champion. His career keeps moving up.

As I mentioned above, 2013 had a great start and I'm sure it will continue the same for the rest of the season and throughout of the years.

His next race is the GRAND-AM of The Americas presented by GAINSCO and TOTAL on March 02, 2013.
