My love for MLB Baseball
Major League Baseball is my favorite sport and America's pastime. Bond with your family and friends at a ballgame and root for your favorite baseball team.
There is one sport that rises a little over all others. That is baseball. I grew up a huge Detroit Tiger's fan and am still one to this day. Many others are fans of other teams but we all have one thing in common over our rivalries, a great love for baseball. Baseball has been a big part of my life starting in childhood and an activity that helps my bond with my children. The legacy is passed on from one generation to another.
We all have our favorite baseball moments and childhood heroes that stood larger than life. Mine was Sweet Lou Whitaker and my favorite memory was when the Tiger's won the 1984 World Series. I used to collect baseball cards and would spend hours looking at them. How many of us would play and pretend the bases are loaded in the World Series with 2 outs, 3 runs down and the game depends on you hitting the grand slam? There is something magical about going to a baseball game when you are a child with your father or grandfather and whether your team won or lost you were content. Many of us do the same thing with our children and grandchildren. You can just imagine that they must feel how you did so many years ago. Though the concession stand prices have risen, at some parks the tickets are expensive, yet we somehow manage to go to a couple of games a year though for others they may be able to afford season tickets. What I do is try to go to a few games a year at Comerica Park and then attend several Minor League games affiliated with my team, the Detroit Tigers because you can always find a good seat at a fraction of the cost. You can also see players before they are potentially the stars of the future or can catch a major league player who is rehabbing or has been sent down to improve on an aspect of their game. I've rambled long enough but just wanted to express how much baseball means to me and my family.

Since the Detroit Tigers are my favorite team, I'll predict their season
Feel free to predict your team's record in the guestbook
3-30-2011 Opening day is tomorrow and I'm real excited. The Tigers start their season with the New York Yankees. I predict the Detroit Tigers will win 93 games and the AL Central. Of course, I'm a fan and can throw out high expectations for my team though. Good luck with whatever team you root for and wish you a great season of baseball with many fond memories. Let's go Tigers.
3-18-2012 I'm pretty excited about the Tigers this year. Last year they won the AL Central but fell short in the playoffs. I was devasted when Victor Martinez when down for the 2012 season with leg injuries requiring surgery. But because of that they went out and signed Prince Fielder. With Prince and Miguel Cabrera in the lineup I feel there will be a lot more balls hit out of Comerica Park. Looking forward to opening day and hopefully Miggy can hold down 3rd and Verlander and the other pitchers have a great year. I am predicting a 100-62 season for 2012.
5-01-2013 Been an exciting year so far. The Tiger's pitching staff is on pace to break strikeout record. The year is still early and I forgot to make a prediction before the season started. I see a solid 93-69 record with Detroit winning the AL Central.
10-6-2013 Excited Tigers won division 3 years in a row and correctly predicted a 93-69 record. We are tied up with Oakland right now but hopefully we can take the series and advance to and win the WS. Our pitching staff has been awesome this year. Between Verlander who had a down year, Scherzer with 21 wins and dominating, Sanchez with the Best ERA and also dominating, I feel we have the best starting pitching staff in MLB.
7-2014 Been a crazy year so far and still reeling from the WS loss. Fielder, Austin Jackson and Fister are no longer on the team but picked up Ian Kinsler and David Price. Still hoping for another 93-69 season.
Poll on your team's division
Your favorite team lies in what division?
I think this looks cool and one of the many things I would like to get that are baseball related.
