Red Is The Most Winning Colour!

We were asked this week to write about Red, which is the colour of love, but it is also the colour most often used by teams that win and even armies that win. In fact the best colours if you want to succeed are red, white and blue in that order. This fact must be well known because in flags around the world the most popular colours are red, white and blue. The British and American flags (two of the strongest nations) both contain all three. Could this be an accident or is it intent?

It is strange but true that the success of the colour red flows through sport too. Somehow when a team dons a red shirt they compete more and strive harder, they have more pride. So it should come as no surprise that Red is also considered to be the colour of love. Valentines are usually red or largely so, the red rose is the flower most often chosen to signify love, and of course red is the colour of blood, and therefore is always associated with valor.

Red Teams From Sport

It is a fact that the three most successful teams in the British Premier League (formerly the first division) all play in red. Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal. They have all won the championship, European Trophies and have, at times, appeared to be unbeatable.

Then in Motor Racing there is the most famous of all teams Ferrari, who always race red cars, and Maclaren who race in red and white.

Even in ice hockey Detroit and Montreal two of the all time greats play in Red!

In battle the Romans often wore red, and the greatest army of all time, the British redcoats, it appears if you want success then red is the colour of choice.

One Of The Most Popular Guitars For Bands Is Red!

The infamous Red Stratocaster by Fender! This guitar was the favourite of Hank Marvin the Shadows famous lead guitarist. He was one of many who loved the colour Red and the Stratocaster too!

The Stratocaster is also my personal favourite electric guitar I love its distinctive sound and always wanted one for as long as I can remember. For me the colour has to red too. Even though my favourite electric guitarist Eric Clapton always preferred his to be black.
