The Best Gifts For Camping

Updated on May 19, 2014

Camping can be so wonderful, wouldn't you love to give a gift for this great activity?

Do you know other people and families that are in love with camping? It is a hugely highly rated outdoor sport and it's one of the most fun group and family activity that people enjoy these days without having to spend a small fortune on certain supplies that are necessary for a completely fantastic trip. ( I know some people that know how to spend a ton though lol!)

We get to enjoy the great outdoors and nature most anywhere you choose. Just about anywhere in the country there are campgrounds and parks that have places to put up camp.

There are so many nifty things to add to your shopping supply list for those camping lovers. All of these equipment type items are very handy and useful things for camping.

Whether someone has a great big recreational vehicle, or they enjoy tenting it, there are a variety of gifts you can find for your camping friends and family.

The Kids inside our popup on a happy camping adventure!

We started out in out little pop up tents with the kids, packing up our sleeping bags, all the camping supplies we thought we needed, and actually didn't. We found out in time what things were necessary, and what things were. Here are the kids in the upgraded pop up camper we went to after getting ourselves really into camping and enjoying hitting the road on many camping adventures.

Eventually we even upgraded to a larger hard sided RV that had the whole nine yards. A bathroom and all! Oh, how I miss those days though.. the kids have grown and they no longer wanted to go along, we have packed away the camping equipment that we have left up in our attic for possible future use. The campers are gone, but who knows, when the grand kids come, maybe one day......:)

So hopefully our experiences can help lead to your finding some of the equipment you will use on your upcoming adventures, or maybe help you to consider a camping trip if you never went on one!

Yes, we're on the way!!! It does look pretty easy in this four wheel type vehicle doesn't it? Well.... it kind of is.. but you can make it whatever way you like to even in this fun travel camper! We took to the road and made our way to the campground and set up camp, made the way easy, but did our "down and dirty" camping once we got there! We set up the tents for some, others stayed in the camper. It just isn't for everyone. That's okay. Camping is a great time no matter what way you do it.

Camping Equipment

Here are a few of the typical items that we usually have along with us when we are out on a venture. The possibilities are endless. The camping community is a very friendly one though, so if you are missing something, someone will share, then come back and get one of your own!

Coleman LED String Lights, 10 Lanterns

These are a great addition to decorate you campsite. Bring a little sparkle to your nighttime adventures with these string lights by the well known Coleman company.

I love this set of red dishes. They are such a cute set to take on any camping excursion with you.

The camp fire is a real fun time during any trip out in the woods, field or mountains, wherever you may go.. This tripod makes it so much easier to set up some of your cooking as well.

The Generator can give them the comforts of home

Maybe your campers may not be quite ready to really rough it yet, and want to have some power. This generator will get them enough power to use a few of the creature comforts of home, but still be out there in nature. The first time we went to a beautiful campground that was without electric and water, we were stuck in an unbelievable heatwave of over 100 degrees! We didn't have a generator and if we did we could have powered up our little a/c unit and kept cool for some time at least.

Lanterns for Lighting

Choose a great lantern for a camping gift. This is one of the best gift ideas for evening fun during your excursions. Especially if you are in the need to sneak out in the middle of the night if you know what I mean ;)

Handy and convenient, I love this little lantern, having it on hand makes me feel so comfortable in the wild ahhhhhh

Tenting It

Give someone who loves to camp a gift of a new tent. Maybe you can get someone hooked on camping by introducing them to a new tent! Here are a few good ones to choose from. They are so much easier these days to put up than they were years ago. Just pop those babies together in a few minutes and you are on your way for a hike in no time. Then back to camp to grill and make s'mores and kumbaya!

Handy Camping stoves

A new camping stove makes a terrific gift for the camper on your list. Great names in camping here. We sometimes like to use the stove when we don't have time to make a campfire.

Camp Chairs

A fine gift for the camper to cozy up around the campfire, or relax in the fresh air in the great outdoors.

Sometimes when we went to certain campgrounds, there were no shower facilities. Then all you need is one of these portable showers. They are very easy to use.

Watch this review to help learn how to use the portable shower. It's great to be able to bring one along with you.

Fire Pits

A firepit is one of the most enjoyable gifts you can choose for a camping enthusiast. The campfire really makes the trip! With one of these fire pits it is nicer and safer to enclose your camp fire. Easrlier on we didn't have one and we would use rocks and it would be an open ground fire. We eventually got a great Coleman fire pit and it became much safer and more fun. We even used it at home, and still do.

I love going camping and the best gift I could get would be one of those portable camping showers. LOL. Right now we use one of these plastic bags that come out of a 5-gallon box of wine. We fitted the twist on opening with a make shift sprinkler top. For short term camping trips it is just heated water in a bowl with wash clothes.
