Tiger Woods' Yacht Privacy

Updated on February 21, 2015

Tiger Woods' Yacht Privacy

We all know that Tiger Woods has been in the news much more than he would like lately, but he still is the owner a nice little boat. Although Woods' Yacht Privacy is not anywhere near the largest yacht in the world, it is still one impressive ship. Constructed by Christensen Shipyards, the 155 foot, 20 million dollar vessel is full of luxuries that not only makes it Tiger Woods' yacht, but his sanctuary, and affords him the ability to elude the public and media, which I'm sure comes in handy right about now.

Features

To help Woods unwind, Privacy is equipped with three SeaDoos, two Vespa scooters and two ocean kayaks. On deck is a large bar, stainless steel BBQ and a spacious eight person jacuzzi. A $150,000 station was added to fill scuba tanks with a blend of helium, nitrogen and oxygen, this blend allows for deeper diving than the usual two-gas blend. A decompression chamber is also on board. This equipment is necessary for diving deeper than the 120 ft. recreational limit.

The interior of Tiger Woods' yacht is filled with cherry woodwork. The VIP stateroom is towards the rear of the ship with two queen size cabins and a twin cabin near the ships mid-section. The twin cabin has been turned onto to a gym room with free weights, a treadmill, and an exercise bike. The circular staircase has transparent stairs and a cherry handrail. The main living area is a sprawling open floor plan with just a single divider between the bar and the dining room. In addition to the staircase, there is an elevator that can hold up to three people.

Privacy utilizes an eight to nine man crew, and has the ability to sleep and total of 21 individuals comfortably. The yacht took almost three years to build, and after receiving his yacht in 2004, Woods discovered Christensen Shipyards had used his purchase to promote their business and sued them for violating the privacy agreement that was agreed upon when the ship was ordered. Tiger's lawsuit claimed the Christensen used his name and photos for advertising without authorization. The court ruled in Woods' favor and he received a $1.6 million, far less than the $50 million he was seeking.

Tigers ex-wife, Elen could purchase a similar vessel and still have $80 million left to play with. Enjoyed reading the interesting details about the "Privacy" and Tiger's lawsuit.
